My son and I visited the Neonopolis during the 2009 Trek convention at the Hilton. We were very disappointed. The place is basically a slum, the facility is run down. There was only one shop open in the Neon, and it was like a ghost town. The cabbie we took hadn't even heard of the place. Plus, the Neon is far enough away from the strip that it costs $25 for a cab ride, one-way. There was no indication that any remodeling or rebuilding was going on there, no mention anywhere of the Startrek Experience.

$20 to $25 is a great price - I would visit Vegas just to see Star Trek The Experience, and still have plenty of money for hotels, food, drink, and Star Trek gift shop items.

Star Trek is family friendly fun - a great boost to Vegas family entertainment.

But what is really needed is for the movie to set off a new TV show - something before ST:TOS but after ENTERPRISE.

There is plenty of SciFi fans in a large marketspace - look at the success of Battlestar Galactica and other newer SciFi shows.

TV just hasn't been the same without fresh Trek for people to enjoy, it is time to continue going boldly into the Franchises Future!

Firstly, Thankyou CBS and Neonopolis. Secondly, WOOO-HOOO! This is the best. So many people I mentioned it to on the east coast had never heard of it and they were big Trekkies, very disappointed they never had the chance, now they will. If they advertize, people will flock to it.

53. Jim Nightshade,….Maybe we can all write to Paramount CBS to let them know what we might like to see at the re opened experience once they give us official notice it will be re-opening….

It is not Paraborg that needs to be contacted. It is CBS that has the rights.

I really hope it's true that its coming back, Vegas could be on the cards for 2010. Unless the £ sinks any lower. Damn you credit crunch!

Besides hardcare fans, who would want to pay to see "old" NextGen and DS9 attractions in Vegas. This would be like opening up a Battlestar Galactica theme park next week that ignores the current show and is focused on the 70's show. I bet you'll see a minimulist deployment here heavy on the gift shop aspect. This is kind of sad. They should just let this die gracefully.

Very Good Points Lt. Bailey and I agree....While the time station is set in TNG/VOYAGER era others eras can certainly be added to make it all a more complete experience....I also love both Rides and would hate to see anything missing from the Experience....However adding more would just make it all even better....Maybe we can all write to Paramount CBS to let them know what we might like to see at the re opened experience once they give us official notice it will be re-opening....I hope they do plan on expanding and adding to it...they need to invest more into the attraction to make it an even better world class attraction....I just wish it would have been on the Strip instead of Downtown....I know tons of families would go to it if it was on the strip but I dont know how family popular downtown is, I dont think many kids would want to go to downtown vegas....not much there for them....which worries me...

While I would agree that the Klingon ride (film) should be updated to have you crash back into the Neonopolis place as the Hilton had it shot and that would be too confusing if they did not change it out. Eliminate the ride? No way, that would upset too many Klingons that I know and drank with at Quarks. The Borg ride was very different than the Klingon ride and that is a great idea as I am sure there are some Voyager fans would agree. In a perfect world they would have a TOS ride, TNG ride, VOY ride, DS9 ride, ENT ride and a new film ride, but we all know the truth.

Is there room for a TOS or JJ film ride, who knows? I really never felt they were old or out dated or boring. Equate it to the rides at Disneyland, some are 50 years old and I still enjoy them as much as I did when I first went there when I was 5 years old. Thus the STTE rides never were boring or stale to me. In fact they were great after Jeff or Matt (bartenders) made me a couple Mind Meld or Systems Overload drinks.

The nice thing about the old STTE was that all the characters in costume there referred to it as a Time Station so it is perfectly logical to have all types of fans there having a good time and drinking a Warp Core or Romulan Ale or Klingon Blood Wine. You can be dressed in any uniform you want and no body would mind at all. That was what that place was all about, having fun in a Star Trek environment!

Hm, I have a feeling that the big wigs of Star Trek really, really do not like the Midwest... But eh. Let them hold their prejudices about everyone 'round here being farmers. xD But at least lower the ticket prices to Cali!!!

Anyways, ooooo, something cool actually happening during my lifetime! All the good attractions were only open when I was either not born or so young I didn't even know what the Vulcan Salute was.
