Artwork & Details on new ‘Best of’ TNG and TOS DVD sets

After yesterday’s huge news of new Star Trek Blu-ray and DVD sets, there is even more Trek DVD news coming out today. Yesterday we hinted at a couple of new ‘best of’ sets coming from CBS, and today CBS made it official, providing images and details on the ‘Best of TNG’ and ‘Best of TOS’ sets coming out in May, mainly geared to potential new Trek fans as an introduction to these shows.

ToyFair DST Update: New Excelsior & Enterprise B Toys Announced

The 2009 Toy Fair has already revealed a bounty of Trek goodies from Diamond Select Toys (see previous story). But DST have shown two more items that will be joining their 2009 line: toy ship versions of the USS Excelsior and USS Enterprise B. We also have new pictures of some of the functionality of previously announced toys, and some new images of packaging.  


CBS & Paramount Announce First Star Trek Blu-ray sets – TOS S1 & All TOS movies coming April/May [UPDATED]

Today CBS and Paramount made official what we have been reporting for months, for the first time ever, Star Trek is coming to Blu-ray in 2009. CBS announced a Blu-ray set for the first season of TOS and Paramount announced all the TOS era movies are coming to Blu-ray, all to be released this Spring. DST Announces New Star Trek Toys, Figures & More at ToyFair 2009

At this weekend’s Toy Fair (New York), Diamond Select Toys revealed plans for some of their 2009 Star Trek line. Newly announced items include TOS & Wrath of Khan toys, an Enterprise D variant ship, a Pike bust and (of course) a bunch of action figures, including a Romulan Kirk and a ‘fascinating’ Spock. So buckle up and let’s see what DST has in mind in what is certainly the best year for Star Trek merchandise ever. 


Official ST09 Site Update: Check Out New ‘Panoramas’ Inside The New USS Enterprise

The official site for the new Star Trek movie has just added a brand new ‘PANORAMA’ feature that gives you interactive 360 degree views of sections of the USS Enterprise. As of now you can choose to get a close look at two different corridors on the ship, including ‘zoom in’ on various control panels, details and screen shots below.

Star Trek The Exhibition Beams Into Detroit This Weekend

On February 14th the first ‘engagement’ of Star Trek The Exhibition, makes its Midwest debut at the Detroit Science Center. The Exhibition features genuine Trek memorabilia along with recreations and motion simulator rides. TrekMovie has full details along with other related activities at the science center and comments from Star Trek vet Mike Okuda who is helping put it all together.


Alan Dean Foster Writing Star Trek Movie Adaptation

One of the last pieces of the multimedia rollout for the new Star Trek movie has finally been revealed. Today Pocket Books confirmed with TrekMovie that veteran sci-fi novelist Alan Dean Foster is writing the adaptation for the new Trek feature. Paramount To Show Star Trek ‘Sneak Peek’ At WonderCon

They skipped San Diego Comic Con last summer and New York Comic Con last week, but Paramount is bringing a Star Trek panel to WonderCon in San Francisco in just over two weeks. Today the full schedule for WonderCon was announced and included is a ‘sneak peek’ and a ‘special guest’ from the new Star Trek movie. There are other Trek related panels as well, including one with yours truly.
