I watched the Watchmen HBO special the other night and I'm intrigued.

Personally I HATE CGI (hear that Orca?) and some of the scenes look fake as all getout, but the story is sound, and the movie looks cooler than Transfarmers.

I always liked "Clash Of The Titans", despite the cheese and massive departure from the actual Greek myth upon which its plot was based.

I would love to see a remake, this one done with better acting, better effects, and more homage to the classic myth and the writings of Pausanias and Apollodorus (who most prominently document the life of Perseus and his importance to Ancient Greece).

Unlike some of the other mythological heroes, Perseus is actually widely considered to have been an actual historical figure---and founder of Mycenae, as well as ancestor to some of the early Persian Kings (through the eldest of his seven sons). Heracles is another of his descendants (although about 4 generations later).

I would be very interested in seeing another COTT---but would welcome another take that combines the classic myth with the actual historical significance of the man and his family.

That one actually peeks my interest...

Seriously, if we're taking the whole cannon thing seriously, Dante did not weild a massive scythe against an unholy army of the damned, pretty sure that would have come up somewhere. Also where's Virgil guiding him through the various levels? Also the sequels where they go through Purgotory and Paradise might not be that good..... All I'm saying, the game designers haven't taken alot things into account.

I don't know what's up with Dollhouse but it's got to be the biggest disappointment of all. I've "given it a chance," and all I see are hacked-apart scripts, inconsistant editing, and trouble behind the scenes. It really shows. It seems to be no more than a "star vehicle" for Dushku.
Who knows, as commercial and lame as it is, It'll probably become Joss' greatest hit.
And THAT would be sad.

Terminator? I'll watch it for Summer, but that's it.

Really excited over the recent SGU casting bits. Ming Na and Phillips will really add to the show.

However, I really don't see how the Dragonball movie will have any success. A decent anime being turned into a live action film is a spell for disaster

2 years ago, I don't think anyone expected "300" to be the big hit that it was. That got some pretty bad reviews, and the graphic novel it was based on is even less known than (and not nearly as revered as) Watchmen. It went on to gross over $200 million, domestically!

Synder definitely has a following after that film. I think that, like the Wachowskis, he has a visual style that a lot of movie geeks are drawn to.

49:

It might.

Go onto Rottentomatoes.com, and the reviews are polarized. Even some good reviews say, essentially, "I read the comic, and it's exactly what I wanted, but the mass market may not get it. And it's too long."

What's discouraging for the film is that major publications seem to be less prone to positive reviews than geek sites and smaller outlets.
