I know I’m gonna get blasted for this but I have to say that sometimes the Trekkies (or Trekkers) get on my nerves because of things like this. Jay Leno is a comedian. That is his job. That is how he makes money. He wasn’t insulting Trek or any of you personally, he was making a funny joke.

This kind of thing is why Trek hasn’t been generally popular in 10 or 15 years and I hope it will go away so more people will see the new movie in May.

I don’t have a problem with “Star Trek” being made fun of, at all.

All I was saying is that Leno is not as funny as Letterman (or Stewart or Colbert).

Sadly, he’s also not nearly as funny as the Leno who used to guest and and do stand-up routines on Letterman’s show in the mid-1980’s either. IMHO.

Pon Farr – Give Nature a Jump Start!

Oh my, those TOS goodies are cool and fun. We should enjoy this instead of complaining about being the target of jokes. People will always laugh at what they don’t share. Main thing is, ST has become an important part of pop culture, and TOS was *cool* already when people started to use the word in this way…:)
