i see that a lot of people forget that “the dark knight” had an enormous push by the death of heath ledger. please don´t get me wrong, i love the movie and it deserved grossing a billion dollars, no doubt about that. it has its rightful place in cinematic history. but i am still convinced that it would´ve grossed less without that push.
what if heath ledger played the comedian in watchmen? :-)
i am a big fan of the watchmen comic, and also a big fan of the movie too. zack snyder did a terrific job and delivered an innovative and disturbing movie.
comic books, literature and cinema are three separate forms of art, which stand on their own. the process of transferring something from one art form to another brings necessarily changes, omissions or fixings with it.
think about it, and try not to compare the movie to the book or vice versa. try to see the movie or read the book as a stand-alone piece of art.
