OK, after a snack break ...

WHERE TO LOOK FOR CLUES:
========================

The 2389-42.com and the binary sites are obviously all part of the ARG, and their IP addresses confirm it, as they're all in a similar block, and the names they're registered under match the elements we've encountered (ie. Albert Stein registered the "Al" domain, Camille Dupont registered the "Ca" domain). Moving up and down that block of IPs doesn't reveal any other Star Trek-related sites, so it's a good bet we've found all of the relevant sites, so far.

I think this strongly suggests that there's a clue that's still out there we haven't full followed up on.

A lot of people are leaning toward "VI" as that clue. I tend to agree - it appeared on all of the binary sites, and unlike other universal clues (chemical elements and "*#%^@" sequence that lead to finding the chat site), it hasn't really explicitly pointed to any new revelations.

I haven't confirmed this, but someone pointed out that "VI" coincides with the time of day that the 4/17 chat started. If that's the case, I'm bummed: "VI" really seems to be our last, best unsolved clue.

Suggestions for concentrating your efforts
==========================================

* Look for "VI" clues in the Star Trek Party photos.
* Keep looking for the relevance of "6" in what we've encountered so far.
* Look into relevance of "VI" on periodic table of elements.

"2389-42" is another potential clue that hasn't been fully followed up on. Remember, we found 2389-42.com through its IP address, NOT it's URL. Does it stand for 2345? Clearly, it's a "new style" stardate, which begs the question: what's so important about February 11, 2389?

Suggestions for concentrating your efforts
==========================================

* Look out for these numbers: 2345, 2389, 42.
* Look for new sites related to these numbers.
* Look for references to February 11

Those two avenues are where I think our best bets are for the next stage in this game. But there are others.

Let's take another look at the chat transcript. The gist of it is, there's a team in a sticky situation: obviously, they're from the future, and probably they've come here accidentally. The context suggests that they came up with a plan that involved split up and trying ... something ... but it didn't work and now they're missing one of their number. They had trouble with frequencies and magnetic interference.

Well, here's a thought: the binary sites are all distorted and blurry. Maybe THOSE SITES represent each team members efforts in part of these plans. So maybe there are clues yet to be found (or yet to be added) to those sites.

Suggestions for concentrating your efforts
==========================================

* Revisit 0100011001100101.eu, 0100001101100001.eu, 0101001101101001.jp, 0100000101101100.eu, and 01001111.com.
* In particular, pay attention to Ca's site (0100001101100001.eu) since she/he is missing, and Si's site (0101001101101001.jp), since he's off trying something different.

Just because I think Malak0 is a dead end doesn't mean I think "Carrefour de la Rue de la Fédération et Rue de Presles" is a dead end. There could be something else there. I don't think it's related to random numbers being visible and invisible -- the blurring is related to Google's StreetView technology, and I don't see them specially leasing them for another commercial interest.

Suggestions for concentrating your efforts
==========================================

* Look at names and signs on Google StreetView -- maybe the name of the cafe is a passcode somewhere?

Do Janus's first few scrambled lines in the chat hold significance, or is it all just to setup Candir's homage to Star Trek IV ("Use the keyboard.")?

# PHPChatUser3: Kloidn*&%$)#mns
# PHPChatUser3: *******?
# PHPChatUser3: ??????
# PHPChatUser3: *^*&!!!!!!!

Finally, here's my completely silly theory regarding "VI": has anyone else noticed that it looks like the Vulcan "Live Long and Prosper" hand sing? :D
