#55 – I wonder if the problem is us? Like, with Trek there’s “fan” and then there’s… well, us. I wonder if perhaps Mr. Quinto was indeed a fan of the show growing up but has encountered our particular breed and realized he wasn’t THAT into it and so has had to kind of rethink what people mean when they ask him about being a “fan”? I don’t think it means he doesn’t appreciate it or anything, I think it’s a question of levels, maybe. But that’s speculation.

I live in Houston, Texas, and I have scoured an H.E.B., a two Kroger stores, one Randalls

The only Trek themed cereal boxes I have seen THUS FAR are Frosted Flakes and Reduced Sugar Frosted Flakes

I really wanted to do something cool and collect them as momentos, like my Original Spock figure…I actually manage a retail store, so I know that when it comes to food (even food that lasts a while like cereal), its usually rotated on the shelf…old stuff first, new stuff in the back

So most likely the other brands of cereals (Lucky Charms, etc) are sitting the back of the storeroom somewhere in plastic totes

If I’m really nice to the manager, I might get them to let me buy I few…I’d do the same for a Trek fan if they wanted it from my store (we don’t sell cereal, but I wish we did)

And I asked the manager at BK when they were getting the glasses, she said when they get them I could come in and buy one, even if they haven’t changed promotions yet!

For some reason, cereal companys don’t seem to promote films or entertainment media in the UK. So I guess no Star Trek to be had here in England… !!

I get to see the movie tomorrow night (the 23rd) here in Kansas City, and I will be posting a full report/review on SciFi4Me – with as few spoilers as possible! Don’t want to ruin it for everyone.

One of the things that’s bugged me about the coverage is the lack of information about the music, so I’ll make sure to take copious notes about the score and include that in the report.

Maintain awesomeness, y’all. Next time you flip open your cell phone, remember: you are have been and are now all part of a cultural impact monolith.
