Toys R Us throws out those cool displays! Heart broken to find this out this past weekend:

Walked into Toys R Us to check new stock on the ol' Star Trek, saw that the huge display came down, and was replaced by the new Transformer film coming out soon, when I asked the re-set manager what and where did the cool movie display with the huge Enterprise went with the logo and space backdrop, he uttered these words to me very plainly with no emotion, just like a Vulcan........"We threw it out and shredded it this morning."

I "boldly" asked again, in a dazed state of bewilderment, and got the same response once again. He went on to say..."Yeah, we don't do anything with that stuff these days, it just get's thrown out."

He informed me that too many people in the work force have faught over that stuff through the years, so now Toys R Us just shreds it and throws it away. FYI

RE the sale -- go back to the store this week while the sale is still on and they will refund the difference of the amount you paid and new sale price. I just got back $50. The sale is also being honored online.

Give 'em a chance. (And I bet somebody in C/P management has already sent at least one nasty memo about the untoyable Narada design.)

Besides, there should be cute robots on the Enterprise. We've got them now, for goodness's sake.

#73:

That comparison is completely unreasonable. I hardly would consider this "Star Warsing". I mean, please; go to a Toys R Us or even a Target or Wal-Mart; take a look at the massive selection of Star Wars toys, then compare it to the two or three rows of Star Trek action figures, if they even have THAT many.

The Star Wars line has gotten completely out of control. They manage to come up with figures for characters that had all of fifteen seconds of screen time, and let's not forget the multiple variations on the same character. The most ludicrous thing of all? Star Wars Transformers. Yeah, okay...check please.

Meanwhile, here's the Star Trek movie toy selection; one version of each character for each figure size, one ship, three accessories, two playsets. DONE.

Yeah, that's "Star Warsing", alright. *rolls eyes*

Hey. CBS/Paramount! As long as you're Star Warsing this property, would you mind putting some cute maintenance robots on the Enterprise in the next movie? You could sell a bajillion of them.

I finally got my hands on a fairly decent Playmates movie Enterprise where the paint and lettering wasn't a disaster, although I still had to tweak it after I got home to clean up some factory smears and blotches. Our local Wal-mart has the ship and figures but no phasers, communicators or tricorders. I heard that DST is finally planning to bring us TOS klingon battlecruiser. Can't wait to see it! Wish they would make the original bridge playset sort of like what Playmates did back in the nineties with the next generation. My only problem now is to find a place to display and store all my stuff and we won't even talk about my depleted bank account! LOL!!!

64- kids are shrewd my friend; they know the difference between quality toys and something which should be hanging on the peg at the dollar store. I still have GI Joes I played with as a kid- unless kids are REAL CAREFUL, these won't last past the teenage nostalgia stage.
