The line up of stars if great but it does lack something if Cpt Kirk (Shatner) is not there. Nice to see some of the original crew as well as other ST actors. Although some leave some thing to be desired and I wonder why them? Kendra Wilkinson…even Playboy gets involved too.

Got my ticket for the 1st 11.00am showing on the 7th May in the UK. The cinema said that there will be no commercials or trailers – just the film !! No complaints from me there and sod waiting for the 8th to come round !!

Frakes being there is no surprize. To me, he has to be the coolest of all of the actors in Trek. He always seemed genuinely into it, enjoying the whole thing while giving back in the form of directing and doing it very well. He should be in charge of the next TV version of Trek.

Perhaps so, but I’ll take what I can get! I need this film to be as big of a hit as possible. :-) Terminator doesn’t come out until 2 weeks after Trek, right? I wonder if it might be possible for Trek to top the box office for 2 weeks?

Wow, Harry sure is P.O.’d, but it sounds like part of it is related to AICN getting dissed from a preview screening. He could also be genuinely angry that a turd has been released as an X-Men movie.

I also think it’s obvious that Rotten Tomatoes is nudging some of the ‘meh’ reviews into “fresh” territory. Those he quotes as ‘positive’ don’t sound so great to me.

One thing is certain, FOX just mucked the whole thing up, with negative rumors from the set, re-shoots, the Internet leak (maybe someone inside really wants this to fail).

Star Trek should succeed on its own merits, and not due to the failure of the competition.
