#17 and #44:

CORRECT--ON ALL COUNTS!

Hey Newsweek, a word of advice.

As Shatner would say--"GET A LIFE! Just GROW THE HECK UP, and MOVE OUT OF YOUR PARENTS' BASEMENT!!!"

Just nitpicking:

glares are okay...

pipes are not... looked like the bowels of old cruise ships. The Enterprise is a federation flagship. at least cover all the pipes.

Kelvin bridge is cool. That's how i wanted the Enterprise to look. Reminiscent of the old trek.

Sense of scale is spectacular!

Holograms on the narada suck. It maybe a mining ship, but it's a 24th century mining ship.

Spock prime should have died at the end. There's no need for JJ to tie this to the old trek universe any longer. This is full on reboot after all.

Good thinking about the E's launch dates vs the Mirror Darkly info... It could very well be that it is his son or daughter or something. Being that this is Trek though, I posit that the wrinkles in time that were caused by Nero and then Spock could've had a temporal wake effect both backwards and forwards from thier arrivals, thus Archer's lifespan could be mildly altered along with just about anything big or small, between the prime and STXI dimensions. For me, a writer who sees all things imagined as if it were a break-neck speeding movie like Trek 09, I can pretty much blink and have an explanation for any Trek inconsistancy. Shat could've been in this film, I had a few ideas how to do it. That's just one example. I don't see it as time wasted when I come up with these explanations and theories, they come and go so fast anyway - and since I write - and LOVE ALL of Trek, it's an exercise I enjoy. Maybe one day I'll be writing Trek books, shows or movies too. I already do for myself, as notes for the future!

Only 694 posts?

Shatner got hudreds more with each mention of his appearance.
Face it everyone, the big news with this movie was that it was not a complete muff. So many plot errors and a flacid story do not make for
a good Star Trek.

I wonder how many that read my early plot synopsis (Google TrekMadeMeWonder) would have preferred that story. Some did.

And Anthony, you said my story ws nothig like STXI. I beg to differ.
Mine had (IMO a better) time travel storyline that included early characters, Starfleet academy, the Koby Ashi Maru test, Kirk as 1st officer, space battles with Romulans, hiding the E in a gas giant's atmosphre for cover, and the creation of a black hole's as a resolution to the enemy's sneak attack on Earth. My snopsis also had Nero as a more intimate threat to the main characters.

In my humble opinion, it's kind of funny (to me) that I could come up with a better plotline in just three hours. Imagine If I had 6 months and a studios support. Drop me a line sometime, Alex or Bob, at StarTrekMovie@gmail.com.

I'd be REALLY happy to help out any way I can!

Was all the anticipation really more interesting than this movie?

Okay. The Prime Enterprise launched in 2245, and the Alt. Enterprise shipped out in 2258. So in if we go by the info the Mirror Darkly episode Jonathan Archer would be dead. Must be his son or daughter that becomes an Admiral and loses their dog in Scotty's experiment.

I'm glad my wife isn't hear to see this tragic display of nerd-dom.

Fun stuff.

Right. But didn't the Alt. Enterprise launch several years later than the Prime Enterprise? I'll check MA.

690: That's a possibility as well.
I was thinking of Archer's bio in In A Mirror, Darkly which stated that retired Admiral/President Archer was still around at the christening ceremony of the Enterprise and died the next day.
