David, I doubt it, that pack should be a repackaging of the the existing 6-pack of TOS movie, plus the TNG movies 4-pack pack that comes out in November, plus the release of Trek 2009 (also in November).

I wonder if the DVD’s will change with the 1-11 box mentioned on the spanish Zonadvd site. Atlhough I can’t read spanish so……..?

28: “Cheap made in China Blu Ray players” LOL! Hate to break it to you but the majority of Blu Ray players are made in China cheap or not.

120: I had forgotten about that prologue. IMO it is unnecessary. I know what happened in Star Trek II and III so I don’t need some recap leading into IV. Trek IV is not one of my favorite Trek movies so I rarely watch this one.

I don’t have a HD tv set nor do I have a big 7.1 sound system. Thus I will be waiting on my equipment upgrade(s) before considering buying this set. I figure as time goes on, there will probably be another version of this HD Trek movie set.

I have the director’s editions/special editions of TMP, TWOK, TUC, FC and NEM. These standard def DVDs are good enough for my 20+ year old Sony Trinitron tube tv (made in Japan model) and Klipsch THX 2.1 pc speakers hooked into my tv’s external sound output. I play these DVDs using DVD players connected using composite video (RCA jack) hookup. I still have Trek I, II, III and IV on VHS if I really want to be nostalgic.

I hate the Bluray look to these films, I clearly like the standard dvd look…seeing the side by side frame comparison. The Bluray in many cases washes out the color and makes everything too dark and diminishes detail. I know space is dark, but visually, it all doesn’t have to look like it was filmed in a batcave by candle light!.

#120 Do you know, I’d forgotten about that prologue. :-) I haven’t seen that since my VHS days (up to 1995). Unfortunately, this release (or the last DVD set) doesn’t have this prologue.
