How many of these teens actually saw The Hangover? I’m just asking because it’s rated R, meaning a lot of teens wouldn’t be able to see The Hangover. Had the votes been decided by people in their 20s, Taylor Launtner would have finished 4th behind Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms and Zach Galifianakis.

All the women I have known had this to say: Both Taylor and Robert are as sexy as a pair of gay slugs.

#44, it might not be a tight race in the Oscar’s for The Hangover, but The Hangover may well give Trek a run at the box office. While it opened lower than both Up and Trek, it is actually outperforming those films for the same time (13 days) and momentum seems to be building. Word of mouth is only fueling this little sleeper phenomenon. Everybody I talk to says they are going to see it when they ask if I have. For an R rated comedy this one is truly a phenomenon at the box office.

Agreed. I also think ST09 is a shoo-in for sound.

And I’d say it will be in a tight race for best screenplay with “Hangover.”

yes sorry i went off topic but wanted to ask mr Orci about a possible gay character in the next film if I saw him online- i’m voting on Sulu (cause John is so cute)

Love the teen choice nominations!
I think its great that teens are into star trek- they will mature to appreciate it on a deeper level just like the kids in the 70’s 80’s and 90’s- but we have to keep engaging new audiences.

$232.5 million- so relieved- I liked Nemisis & thought it would at least top insurrection… oops.

Unfortunately, Twilight will clean up during theTeen Choice Awards. Twilight tends to attract the “girly” (read feminine) girls that fancy “cute” guys like the protagonist Edward Cullen. The girls like myself that were nerds and geeks were ridiculed because we were considered less than feminine or attractive. Twilight just reinforces all of the negative stereotypes about teenage girls. My love of geek culture (comics, science fiction, and fantasy) singled me out amongst my peers as an outcast and a freak. I am of African-American descent which made me even more of an outcast amonst my same race peers. I have always had more in common with those of other races than my own. I actually feel more comfortable as a nerd/geek in the UK than I ever was in the US.

At least Star Trek is on the teen radar now. Maybe a whole new generation of teens will become Star Trek fans. I have been a fan since I was nine.

I hated high school. I don’t ever want to revist those awful days.
