Thank you #58. The sequel to Romulan War is due out in October or November 2011.

I agree with many of the comments above. The timing would be good for a mini series in terms of the fact that the cast from Enterprise are only 5 years older. It would be great. Enterprise was far from perfect, but being a lover of Trek from the early days, I still think it, in many respects, was closer to the 'feel' of the original series. Starfleet personnel weren't perfect - alot of depth to many of the characters. And while the episodes were abit disjointed in the first 2 years, aka no real story arcs under the Xindi, that is what the original series was like. Which I liked.

And the premise was great. A bunch of semi-naive explorers who head out and just get nailed with the 'reality' of joining the universe - the politics, the wars, the danger. And no prime directive - very fun.

I would love to see a series - I don't think you'd do the books justice if it were just a 90 minute movie. You'd loose too much.

Hi there, My husband reads these books and he really wants the sequal to this one. Does anyone know when the sequal is being released? There is a sequal, we just don't know when it's being published. If you know anything, please email on redheadbluffchick@yahoo.co.uk

I was stationed out of country while Star Trek Enterprise was televised. Have watched entire series in syndication. Purchased complete DVD set and all books. This is (was) without doubt the best Star Trek ever. Someone must have been asleep at the switch to allow this to be cancelled. With all the crap that's being passed off as sci-fi on TV now it's time for someone to step up and reenlist the crew for deployment.

I watched "Balance of Terror" again the other night.

I had forgotten that there's a lot more that just the "we didn't know that Romulans were an offshoot of the Vulcans". Spock says quite clearly that the war was fought with old style nuclear weapons. He also states that the ships used to fight the war were so primitive that the war was fought "long range". Plus, it's pretty clear that Spock didn't even know about the relationship between Roms and Vulcans.

Of course, after watching that I thought of ST:ENT. I am glad they were not able to continue the Romulan arc, as it sure didn't look like it was going that way.

However, one of the good things about being a Star Trek fan is that if you try hard enough, you can always think of a way to explain inconsistencies. For example, I guess one way around that could have been that Archer's E was the most advanced ship. All the others were what, Warp 2 or 3? Plus, Spock's statement was a summary, not a narrative. It was just enough lines of dialogue to set up the plot point of Romulans looking like Vulcans.

BOT is great story telling. I think its some of Shatner's Kirk at his best. I miss Mark Leonard. I am glad that we got to see him as Sarek into the movies and ST:TNG.

I will be interested to find out what happens in this book...

So, the old, old star trek books had illustrations on the covers, showing the characters doing something from the story. All they do now is re-use still images of the characters from the show, and they're always just standing there.

Syd Hughes: I can't even believe I'm arguing with you about this, but I certainly don't need you to tell me what the point of the show is. I've been watching it for over 40 years. Pretty sure I've gotten the point. Now, reread post #49 because you haven't gotten the point.
Finally, Star Trek has a history. Statements made in the course of a character's dialogue during episodes are part of that history. Hence, historical statements.
Keep twisting, reaching, and explaining...
