OK, I've been fishing around for what seems like for-EVER, trying to figure the whole Master Replicas ordeal & them going belly up. I've a MR TOS phaser, and something is up with the pistol unit's trigger and/or rear power setting wheel. No lights, no sound. I've been all OVER the web, trying to find either someone who can fix it, someone who KNOWS someone who can fix it, or just internal diagrams so I can try to repair it myself.

Now I see in this article, the author makes a reference to "improvements" that could be made to TOS phaser. Was there a design flaw that made these things crap out after a while, even with moderate use?

I feel like I've got the greatest prop in the world, only it isn't because it no longer functions. (:-(

HELP!!

I agree with you 43, this is a collectable, and not one of 50,000 sold to kids over the age of 9 from DST. I love DST, and own a crap load of thier things, and I am satisfied with them; due to the lack of money to buy better, but that is what you do in life, if you can afford the best (EFX) you buy the best, but if your budget is of lower means, then you settle for a cheaper knock off of the better item. I have pre-ordered the Tricorder, and for those who had the advance notice on this release; could have saved the 10 bucks a day until this shiped, and had that money. It may not function like peoples touch screen devices, but it is a collectable, meant to be admired, and treasured, and it's function is no more then someone thinking the Enterprise model should be big enough to take you into space, because you spend some extra bucks on the studio replica, vs the DST version.
Comments on this page meant you came here with an intial interest in the Tricorder, only to knock it after you found out it is just little beyond your price range for a limited edition, signed copy, of something only 1000 people will have the privledge of owning.

ODD- My post this morning got deleted.

I have been trying to pre-order the tricorder all morning from efxcollectables.com but I am unable to find it. The homepage trys to load something, but I just do not see it.
I though that maybe it may be my version of Flash, but I try two different PCs and 3 different browsers.

Can someone post the link to the order page for the tricorder please !!!

As awesome as the Tricorder pre-order is, did anyone else notice that the page where you put in your credit card details is *NOT* protected by an SSL certificate?

So YAY for wanting to get what looks like a great product - but WTF on transmitting my credit card details across the Internet in cleartext.

Just ordered my tricorder. First 250 to order get a free tricorder holster to go with it. They still havent hit the 250 mark as of moments ago because the website is all sorts of wonky so I called and ordered by phone.

Agreed. I love it.

And while we're on the subject of making props I'll roll out my stock question on this topic....where's that servo prop?
