All, the above is a long-winded nonsensical excuse for believing whatever DM wants us to believe even where we have some small measure of evidence to the contrary. And any crackpot like him believing that worldwide secret organizations are controlling everything we do would NOT know how to apply Occam's Razor if it shaved his beard and called him papa.
And let us not forget, these series of discussions and I began with DM complaining about me complaining too much about the Trek sequel delays. However, right in the middle of this, DM offered his own post complaining about much of the same, as this quote from him illustrates

And also, don’t think for a moment that you are fooling anyone here by you use of words like syllogistic, and with supposed sophisticated arguments on inductive reasoning. You took it upon yourself to try to imagine what I was thinking, and had the gumption to post here publically about it. Well, my thoughts on you are that you are a rogue amateur, a basement expert with no real academic quals, a nut job who believes in silly conspiracy theories that are put forth by snake-oil salesman, and an obsessive compulsive poster who never knows when it is time to exit the argument. By contrast, I have two advanced degrees and have actually worked in the real world with statistics and survey sampling – but I don’t need to type pages of this on this web site to convince myself and others of my qualifications in this area (unlike an obsessed amateur like yourself). And go ahead in your obligatory multi-page response here and make fun of my advanced degrees comment – that is what amateurs do to give themselves the false feeling of superiority.

“The BS never stops with you”
“gusto and pride in your own ignorance”
“Here’s a clue...”
First of all, what asinine behavior! It’s like you think we are in high school or something and you think you can bully me and tease me into giving you my lunch money. This is really lame, and I am frankly embarrassed for you in stooping to this level of vitriol in your attacks on my character here.
"Look at that. The BS never stops with you. Somehow you manage to misunderstand every single thing I’ve said with gusto and pride in your own ignorance."
No, you have it reversed. The BS starts with your bone-headed posts such a making up supposed A priori knowledge about how you know how Trek fans not posting here think. Or let's take another one -- that secret groups are controlling everything around us. And you act like this elitist who seems to be above to fray, an "expert" (LOL) who is qualified to provide us all multiple-page posts picking apart, and in many cases on sub-arguments not central to the person’s post you are responding to. You, my friend are the King of BS on this board. And if I am guilty of enjoying and having fun a bit too much with my posts, well, you are guilty of being an elitist know-it-all on your posts, and the funny thing is you don't even realize it. That is the difference between you and me -- I know I am a Prima donna and you don't realize that you are one as well. "A man's go to know his limitations"

The Riker on the cover looks nothing like Frakes did in Nemesis or "These Are the Voyages".

Titan has ALWAYS been one of the finest examples of Trek. The series has the most diverse group of characters in any print or tv series. The plotlines have dealt with topics in a way that makes one really do a lot of soul searching. Riker has proven to be an excellent captain. Picard would be proud of his former XO.

I remember one scene from Titan's first book, Taking Wing. The situation with the Romulans in that novel boiled down essentially to a 24th century cuban missile crisis. In fact throughout the novel, I pictured Riker in JFK's position. And then what do you know, someone on the ship actually alludes to the VERY SAME comparison within the story!

I also vaguely remember one scene where an away team was in imminent danger (IIRC, on an enemy ship held captive in book 2.) You see the concern Riker feels, he begins to cling tightly to his chair.

And I had to smile during the part at the end of book 2 when Riker picked the IDIC (Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations) for his Dedication Plaque.

loved the return of the Jellies from Encounter at Farpoint in Book 3.

Book 4... Nuff Said.

The Titan segments of Destiny were absolutely my favorites! And In OaTS the plotline with Riker and Lavena, yet another of the toughest issues trek has ever dealt with... and the ending of that novel.... I was cheering for the Rikers

Exceptional and excellent writing style. I felt I had a flavor of each character as I read about them. Not the cliche and often generic feel that I get with some novels.

James Swallow - you are a welcome addition to the Titan series. Welcome aboard!
