i was looking forward to the refit as well, along with the space suits, scotty growing the mustache, and other small things that seemed would really help bridge in the lost years.

this would also allow them to be ready to do the 2nd 5 year mission if they so chose ;) but i supposed they could always do that later anyways with the refit ship. i want to see the transition to the military red uni’s anyways eventually. Movie ship/uniforms are my favorite. :)

The “Kutumba” clip dramatically captures the TOS experience. That is the single best 30″ of New Voyages/Phase II that I have ever seen. Very impressive work.

I’d like to second Cary’s suggestion, and specifically recommend the Excalibur be the first one to get the refit treatment.

And one of these days, I’m gonna have to make a pilgrimage to upstate New York and get a peek at this operation.

Personally, I also wanted to see the Phase II version of the Enterprise in motion. However, I am also glad to see that the original wont be being replaced, but it’s not because I “wanted one place where the original still flies.” I’m glad they stuck with the original because otherwise, I feel, it would have lessened the impact of the reveal of the refit Enterprise in Star Trek: The Motion Picture.

I still want to see the PII ship in some capacity…but Darren, change those windows on the saucer…they are not right. They should be more like that early ST:TMP poster with the painting of the PII ship on it…
