Are you ready to walk like a Trekkie? This week Airwalk has launched its line of Star Trek footwear, available exclusively at Payless Shoes. The Star Trek high top sneaker comes in three Star Trek colors and a wide range of men’s sizes. More details and photos below.
Star Trek: The Sneaker
The "STPL x Airwalk Star Trek Terrain Starfleet Edition Hi Skate" was designed by prominent New York designer Jeff Staple. Each shoe features three Star Trek delta shield logos (back, front and on the tongue). The shoes are available in the three Star Trek uniform colors of engineering red, command gold and science blue (although Airwalk refers to them as burgundy, saffron, and sapphire). They are available in men’s
sizes 6.5-13.

The gold version is an online exclusive available for a limited time at www.payless.com.
As a precursor to the launch of the Star Trek shoe at Payless, jeffstaple released a limited-edition Star Trek shoe in May at the designer’s Reed Space store located in the trendy shopping district of SoHo in New York City.

The blue one shall be mine. I have a thing for shoes. I’m worse than Imelda Marcos.
THIS IS AMAZING!!!
Airwalk still makes shoes?
Anyone know if these will be on sale in the UK and where? Love ‘em, want ‘em!!!
This is awesome. I like how they’re simple, yet get the message across in a subtle way.
Do they think women don’t want to walk like Trekkies? Where’s the love for ladies’ shoes?
Wow, that is nerdtastic.
Fun! So, if you wear the red shoes, should you look over your shoulder alot?
‘Nella, you don’t go with the hi-top look? My daughter and niece will definitely be getting these, but they do tend to wear this kind of stuff with their lime green tight jeans and little dead bunny t-shirts. Kind of the look.
Maybe some 5 inch stillettos with a delta shield at the toe would be a good idea for the more upscale lady.
Nice looking shoe. Wonder if they have a pair without the Star Trek logos (that scream “NERRRRRD!!!!!”).
If you buy the red ones do you run the risk of going on away missions to the shops only to be untimely vapourised by a giant man eating zepholopod from the planet Zykon 3??
already ordered…payless.com

i wonder what would happen to me if i wore these?
Now if they’d only come in women’s sizes, I’d be all over that. More so if it was converse sneakers.
Good Lord.
Coooooooooooollllllllllll
#8 pacimage – “So, if you wear the red shoes, should you look over your shoulder alot?”
I don’t know – but I definitely would NOT wear them to the firing range. Might shoot my own foot off!
I’m waiting for the gravity boot model…
Now if they brought out some hover boots like what spock had when he rescued Kirk when he fell off El Cap. at Yosemite I may consider a purchase :)
“Perhaps you have heard Russian epic of Cinderella? If shoe fits, wear it! “
I read about these about a week ago and thought they weren’t for me, but now my shoes are starting to fall apart and some of my friends on campus are saying I should definitely get them, so I might.
I really like that they decided not to go with the metallic silver as the prototypes had, but I wish that they had kept the “Star” and “Trek” in the left and right shoes respectively and also the “NCC-1701″ along the back of the heel.
I’m gonna go trekking in the trekkies.
And one more thing for the Christmas List.
oh yeah, i’m getting’em.
That has got to be the coolest thing I have ever seen.
They need a basic black version for dress uniforms…….I mean work clothes….
You know, like a stealthy trek kinda thing.
So, so silly….I want them!
I haven’t been big on buying Trek merchandise for years now, but HOT DAMN I want those shoes. Christmas List, here I come.
Ok. For heavens sake. DO NOT WEAR RED!!!! Or you may be Killed!!!! Ok lol. Just kidding. I will havt to think on that. Looks kool though.
Good thing nobody has a shoe size bigger than 13…..
9. Thigh-high boots a la the Romulan commander look…only with the Starfleet delta shields on the front….now that would be fun.
“Merchandising, merchandising, where the real money from the movie is made. (Star Trek)-the T-shirt, (Star Trek)-the Coloring Book, (Star Trek)-the Lunch box, (Star Trek)-the Breakfast Cereal, (Star Trek)-the Flame Thrower…..and now (Star Trek) the Sneakers???- Derived from Yogurt from Spaceballs
Oh god.
I WANT THEM ALL NOW!!!!!
:)
Really? A couple of things spring to mind:
1. ATHLETIC shoes and Trekkies (Trekkers), Is this an oxymoron? Unfortunately most of the fans I know arent exactly the ‘athletic’ type but if this gets them excercising then BRAVO! (Dont boo or hiss we know this to be true.)
2. Who will be brave enough to jaywalk in the red ones? Call me superstitious but I think thats taunting fate :)
3. Have we actually progressed in society enough that this wont be tantamount to wearing a sign around our necks saying, “Its OK, I wasnt interested in dating anyway…”. women notice shoes, this is a fact.
Im not being (too) sarcastic here and am seriously wondering if Trekdom is mainstream enough now that this will be ‘geek chic’.
What is this mens sizes only nonsense? I hope I can get my feet into one of the smaller sizes. Yeah science blue! Too bad command gold is online only. Nerdshoegasm!
Erm,
1) Science blue.
2) Hey, what about women that are average foot size? I am a 7 womens and I am rather afraid I won’t fit into the smallest.
3) 49.99 is a lil pricey, especially for Payless.
4) Getting ‘em anyway.
5) Hope the lil metal thing is removable so I don’t feel like too much of a dork when I wear these to school.
6) @AngryKlingon I notice shoes, but I think there are plenty of girls out there that a) won’t care or b) will like your dorkiness ;)
#20.,
Unfortunately Reebok made Spock’s TFF levitation boots.
As for the others speculating on the deadliness of the red shoes, I think they are forgetting it’s the SHIRT (and maybe a dress or two) and not the shoes that carries the curse. There’s not one recorded scene of a dead Fed adorned in upper torso red wearing any shoe of matching color.
The only curse I’m aware of with regards to wearing red shoes is from a fairy tale.
I wonder when they’ll do a Klingon shoe with the spike at the toe and the Klingon symbol?
My husband and I will be in the US visiting family over the Christmas holidays. We will definitely be hitting Payless Shoe Source for those shoes.
I used to teach high school, and the Airwalk brand was quite popular amongst my students that identified themselves as skateboarders.
I have rather large feet for a woman and I sometimes purchase men’s trainers. They seen to be more comfortable than the women’s styles.
@35
The witch in the film “Penelope” (2008) wore red trainers!
I wouldnt be seen dead them, fan or not…
Nerd Alert! Might just have to get a pair
and Payless is having their buy one get one half off sale right now!.
too bad the smallest equals a women’s 8 1/2…. they missed a big market there…
$50?? I don’t think so.
Even when I get re-employed, I wouldn’t spend that!
The sole of Star Trek. (Couldn’t resist)
That’s awesome
@18 & 44
LOL
These shoes were made for trekking, and that’s just what I’ll do…
But, are they available in Canada?

“Who will be brave enough to jaywalk in the red ones? Call me superstitious but I think thats taunting fate :)”
Nope. Jaywalking while wearing armadillo-skin boots – THAT’S tempting fate!
THIS IS A DISASTER
I WEAR SIZE 16 SHOES AND THESE ARE NOT OFFERED IN MY SIZE
THIS IS A DISASTER
:-D
Gawd I am ordering RIGHT NOW, methinks this is the first merchandising item I completely went bonkers over at first site!
I had been so waiting for these! But no women’s sizes? Denied Again!
I want the Command Gold pair but wearing bright yellow shoes in public will require me to set my phaser to a much higher setting than “stun” to prevent myself from getting beat up.
These are fitting for an away mission.
They’re also Trekkeriffic for stomping on a Klingon’s head when you are sick and tired of them and they are hanging on the edge of a cliff on planet that’s falling apart.
This is up there with the fragrances. Scary …
Ach! No kids sizes?!? I am working on creating the next generation of Star Trek fans in China with my 8 year old adopted Chinese son who loves TOS. This would be a great gift if…
i don’t think i’m going to wear the red one… i might not be able to enjoy it for very long. (red shoed) hehe!
Got ‘em! Red for Uhura! I am so shining up that delta and rocking these mofos all up in the Westside!
I am SO gonna get a few pairs of these! Red ones and blue ones, lol! Now I can walk like a Trekker as I’m not really a Trekkie anymore…..lol! But these actually look like they might be comfortable to wear as well. Just hope there are some left by the time I get to the US for Christmas! Have FUN y’all! J-R!
I want them, but I’m out of money :(
@47
… and one of these days these shoes are gonna trek all over you!
I like those, but I could buy only the gold ones. The red and blue ones feature the wrong department logos!!
;-)
I need a pair!!!!!!
Verry verry nice!
Now if only they’d get cracking on short and long sleeve shirts based on the movie unis I’ll be an even happier camper.

I’ve worked in footwear for over 20 years. I can tell you this. People who have major foot problems in their middle and later years (bone spurs in particular) have worn cheap shoes purchased at places like PAYLESS & WALMART. My advice: If you buy these things, tie them together and hang them from your rear view mirror.
Men’s sizes only. Figures.
But of course, as we all know, “women don’t like sci-fi.” Grrrrr.
Time to get my geek on!
I am a command gold kind of guy….but there is no way in hell I will be seen in public wearing yellow shoes.
Ok, maybe I will get a pair as slippers around the house. But I am not confident enough in my geekhood to wear in public……
By the way shouldn’t the blue ones have the science symbol? Lets get our cannon straight!
#15 Now if they’d only come in women’s sizes, I’d be all over that. More so if it was converse sneakers.
Agreed with you all the way!!
@Your Friendly Neighborhood Mobile Emitter
Contact the company, say you’ll be their spokesmodel to the fans if they make a pair of 16′s for you.
I quit wearing Chuck Taylor Converse shoes back when I discovered they have zero arch support…about my mid 20′s. Loved the shoes, but not the pain.
They are so tacky, but I must have them…be afraid to wear the red pair out…might fall into an open manhole or step on an exploding rock, get stuck by lightening, or be attacked by a sweet smelling vampire cloud thingy….so cool!!
will they be avalible in Australia?
64. Lore! Talk about buzzkill!
Airwalk is a decent brand. And no need to hike the Appalachian trail in these things.
Anyway, if you hang ‘em on your rear view, you’ll get ticketed for obstructing your view.
#72 Do yourself a faver and buy the size 6.5, those won’t obstruct too much.
Hightop sneakers are not shown to be a fashion item in the 23rd Century, nor are they authorized Starfleet wear. NOT CANON!!!!!
#74 You forget we’re in the alternate reality now. Hightops are back in style and the crew will be wearing them in the sequal.
If you wear the red one’s you’ll be run over by a truck in no time flat!
Nice… the blue ones for everyday wear.
And the black and yellow ones will match my Steeler garb perfectly for Sunday pub outings.
Two pair… here I come!
#61.,
You mean the blue and red aren’t official StarFeet (sic)?
I wear a women’s 7 and ordered them in size 6 and they are just a little large. Some nice socks fix the problem.
#63: thinkgeek.com has short sleeved division shirts and a long sleeve black shirt based on the new movie.
I like the red one…anyone know if they’re available in Canada??
#76 — Ha! Good one. But only if Faraday’s mother is there to sell you a ring. . .
Got a pair of the Blue ones on Wednesday. Yeah, the dept icon is incorrect but they’re comfortable and allow me to wave my geek flag in swanky, suede style. ;-)
They’re NOT regulation–they’re not black, they’re not leather, and they’re not true boots. If caught in an otherwise regulation uniform wearing them, you’d then be ordered to take them off and have them destroyed.
Don’t waste your money–they’re ultimately not worth the price.
Heya Angry Klingon (with or without a trenchcoat):
Fandom has more women than men at this point (actually, fandom has ALWAYS had lots of women, including my mother, who religiously watched TOS when it first aired). And geek chicks can be amazingly hot. And they want to date fellow geeks. And yes, they’d dig the Trek shoes. In fact, I know a bunch of very attractive women who are debating whether to get the blues, reds, golds, or all three. Did you notice how many women on this comment board alone are lamenting that these only come in men’s sizes and might be too big?
Anyway, geek is definitely the new chic. We geeks have claimed our awesomeness, and geek culture is taking over. I’ve been saying for years: the geeks shall inherit the earth. And LO! The prophecy has come to pass! :D
Are the shoes geeky? You bet! Will I be delighted to wear them? You bet! Do I care what the world thinks of me? NO WAY – I’m having too much fun to care.
I’m getting the science blues.
Payless.com is running an offer where you get the second pair for half-price if you buy 2 pairs. So I got yellow and blue — I wouldn’t be caught dead in “redshirt.”
awesome. must get the red or the yellow- time to make it ;)
I wanted a Burgundy (red) pair and it’s the only one of the 3 that doesn’t come in my size – 13! How cruel is that? So i sent for the Saffron (yellow) but may run over to Payless to see if they have the Saffire (blue).
DANG! Foiled again, I traveled an hour to the nearest Payless Shoe Store here today (Jennings, LA) only to be told they do not have these shoes, what gives? I had the same problem with all those Star Trek Movie toys and games that were advertised as being available “AT ALL WAL-MART STORES”, three of the Wal-Mart Stores here still have no Star Trek merchandise, other than DVD’s, and a friggin’ WHOLE AISLE devoted to Star Wars… what could be the problem? Do I have to move out of Louisiana just to buy Trek?
Major marketing blunder. There should be women’s sizes. Women make 87% of the household financial/shopping decisions throughout the U.S., and are now the larger percent of the workforce. What out-of-touch Idiot decided that these should only be in mens sizes?
[...] Airwalk shoes is popping out a line of Star Trek shoes (read about it here)! They’ve got the Star Trek logo on the back, tongue and a delta shield on the laces! [...]
I tried to getbthem online and they only have two sizes left in gold (the color I wanted) and are also out of my size in blue. I guess I won’t be getting any.
found some today at Payless in my size and the color I wanted. they’re still available but you may have to look at several locations or settle for a color that isn’t your first choice.
[...] I must return to deciding which colour of Starfleet Sneakers I [...]
I just got a pair of the blue ones. They were on close out at Payless for $15.00. I couldn’t resist. They are great for just walking around, but definitely not an athletic shoe. I will wear these with jeans. For that they are perfect! “Live Long And Prosper”
Anyone have a pair of these in size 12? I can find them anywhere. WIll buy used. Physix82@hotmail.com
