I almost got the TOS season sets on ebay this weekend. But, the final prices quickly rose to almost what the online prices were, plus after watching my TOS-R on my bluray player, I was more than satisfied enough with the playback quality, to put buying them on BD on hold. I can wait till these are in surplus from otgher sellers down the road and get them for a lot less than current market prices. I’ll have the TOS/TNG films in hand soon and will compare in my standard dvd player and BD player the difference in picture quality, if indeed only 2 films have gotten a good transfer. I guess buyer beware of the BD hype sometimes.

So let me get this straight #57. You mean I bought(now)all 10 films and only 2 warrant a bluray transfer excitement and the other 8 films will be like watching them on standard dvd????????????????????????? OMFG!
Paramount/CBS bastards!
Now I’m really glad I got these on ebay for a LOT less than the online sites! Except, I paid approx. 41.00 for the 4 TNG films and less for 6 TOS films. Whatsup w/ that?
And the TOS boxed set has The Captain’s Summit disc also! Most illogical!

It’s too bad that the original films weren’t given the quality transfer that the new film and the tv series were given.

Star Trek 09 and TOS are among the best Blu-ray’s I have ever seen. On the other hand some of the original film series as well as the TNG set are among the worst transfers I have seen for such a high profile releases.

I just bought ST II, ST IV, and ST VI at Best Buy for $7.99 each — Blu-ray. Awesome.

Also, I just noticed none other than our very own Anthony Pascale is a participant in the commentary track for one of them. As they say in Internetese: W00t! :-)

Why is the TOS season sets on bluray on deepdiscount & Amazon have such higher price points on seasons 1 & 2 and 5.00 lower on 3?
And why is the upcoming 3 season in a boxed set on both sites 192.89, but if ya buy the season sets individually, you save approx. 23.97 or more? HUH?
Season’s 1/2 are 57.99. Season 3 is 52.99 preorder.
