Hmmm... I am using an old version of Firefox. You're probably right about the embedding tags. Thanks for the tip!

Some people sure like to act like idiots on this site. The whole "My Dr. Who is better than your Dr.Who" is just pure ridiculous. I mean, c'mon everybody has their own tastes. It's the same way with "Star Trek". For some reason, a few fans seem to feel the need to put down others for liking something they don't. I don't like Dr. Who, but I don't put down those who do. I think Voyager is the weakest of the Star Trek series, but a lot of people like it with some considering it their favorite.

Flash Forward is the best show on TV. Typical American tasteless viewers are not watching it. Wait, this is the same country that dissed Star Trek when it was on. No wonder.

@50 -- Yeah, that's what I meant. I mean I like most 20th century Who; some don't. I also like most 21st century Who; some don't. Some like one or the other. Some people like neither. And tha'ts all perfectly fine. Healthy, in fact.

But it's simply false to claim that the viewership, or even fandom,of modern DW is made up of old fans who are uncritical of it! Hell, tons of the current viewers weren't even *born* when the original show was cancelled! Like I said, it's like saying the 2009 Trek movie was only popular with old fans -- extending the reach of the franchise is at the *heart* of the movie's popularity; and of recent Who's.

I really don't see the point in anyone getting VEXED over people liking a show they don't. Or tying themselves up in knots trying to come up with reasoning for why people have the temerity to like what they like (whether that be that they're in denial out of desperation for any new content at all; or because they're stupid or whatever or).

Honestly, I'm astonished to see such snobbish attitudes of "You like Show X (whether that be Star Trek, or Doctor Who, or American Frickin' Idol), and I don't, therefore you are BENEATH me" on a Star Trek board of all things.

I mean, I really, really, don't like Voyager. I don't go about trying to find insults to hurl at those that do!

I still love it all! ROFL!

Curious though.......if everything from the UK is so rubbish then why does the US wanna remake it? Why spend money on rubbish when there's enough rubbish US shows? And the US remakes hardly ever work, they become even MORE rubbish. The answer to that will most likely be......because the so called original is already rubbish......which is a fair reply, but it still don't answer why it becomes MORE rubbish when remade in the US,LOL!

Anyways,I'm blessed with an EXTREMELY short attention span and that really helps in situations like these. I like what I watch or I wouldn't watch it.....obviously......and I don't belong to any fandom as it just destroys the enjoyment sometimes. Someone said that Who fandom was just the worst or really bad or someting like that.....but I've seen a LOT worse than that! You only have to check out...........this site! The comments here sometimes makes me wonder why I like this stuff in the first place. Luckily my EXTREMELY short attention span doesn't allow me to read all the comments so I guess I'm missing out on all the attacks and really bad stuff, lol! And luckily Anthony and his crew do an EXCELLENT job on the site itself,I love this site!

And snobs!?!.......they're not only in the UK,they're EVERYwhere!!!!! Meet a lot of them at Comic Con every summer,LOL! But that's just a handful,Comic Con is actually great FUN!

Anyways,enjoy your shows/movies.....whatever you like......I know I will! Have FUN y'all! J-R!

Not sure if you're addressing me or not but my point was that I like the new Who and never really watched the old one so the point that only old fans like new Who isn't really valid.

@20: Oh, God, no. I adored the new movie -- primarily because of the sense of fun it brought back to Trek (#45 said it better than I could).

@25: No filler? I don't know, I distincly remember more than a few plots involving the Doc getting caught, escaping, getting caught by the other guys, escaping again, etc.... :)

@48: Some of it's pretty creaky, I know, but check out "City of Death". It was written by Douglas Adams and the dialogue is just grand.

Dom: I know it's the internet and all, but ease up before you blow a gasket. Did new Doctor Who run over your dog while pouring sugar in your gas tank or something?

I don't know, but the "new" Dr. Who is actually a highly watchable and enjoyable show compared to the "old," which was painful, IMO.
