Can’t say that Tarantino’s selection of Trek ‘09 entirely surprises me–his entire output as a filmmaker is a virtual homage to his affection for the breezy, junky, pop-cultural artitacts he enjoyed as a youth. If the Abrams film had been about anything more substantial than its visuals, pacing and snappy one-liners, I doubt he would have enjoyed it so much.

Quentin Tarantino is a genius and if he could direct the next Trek, it would also increase the international appeal/income. It’s awesome to know he is a fan of Star Trek and would know how to treat it with respect as a fan would. Did I mention he’s also a genius??? :o)
