As far as age, It won't be 3 years, Harry. Try 2. They won't put it out immediately after it's made. And your not going to be able to tell the difference in age anyways

I agree that 3 years is too long. Case in point is Iron Man. Two years between movies is prefect. The one thing I would want in return for waiting 3 years for the 2nd film, is a really good story. That is what made this trek movie so good, among other things. It was a well written story. Other than that, not all blockbuster movies need to come out in the summer time. A fall release would be fine as well. Trek movies are mostly viewed by the long time fans anyway. A small percentage of the people who went to see the latest flick were newbies. If I am wrong about this, than so be it. Look forward to the next 1 whenever it comes out. Have a happy day! :)

Now if we can only get the "suits" at Paramount to agree, which should be about as easy as teaching a fish to ride a bicycle!

Anthony, I am willing to compromise; how about a new Trek film every two years and six months?

M'yeah, that should do it!

2.

Calm down, Harry. : ) Are you more worried about their age or your age? Because if you are concerned about their age, please keep in mind that in 2015 most of the actors will still be younger than their TOS counterparts were in 1966! Except for Quinto, who will be 3 years older than 1st season Nimoy.

sorry for the number of messages but I like to think of this as a companion to the rest of Trek, not as something to overtake what came before

I want the new fans to see the other shows and the past movies. For these new fans to become Trek fans they need to see the legacy of Trek not justthis one movie and I think it is important to expose them to the other Treks and prove to them there is a lot more to it than just this one movie.

I love Trek and I want it to continue, the whole legacy.

I will be watching the movie again on Christmas week and looking forward to it.

I just feel that the Trek I grew up with is going to be forgotten and that is what I find annoying

I am sorry I just sometimes get the impression from this site that the past 43 years were all wrong and that ther new movie is definitive Trek

It is a great film and it has helped people get into this wonderful universe that we all love.

But to me this movie is not the definitive Trek and there are a lot of stuff in Trek history that I prefer over this film.

Hope this is understandable. I like the movie but my pronlem is how everyone is rating this higher than a lot of the previous stuff and that is including TOS.
