i feel this would be a great oppurtunity to get my daughter interested in an amazing adventure other than the adventure she seems to think is so hip, texting. i have always been a startrek fan and she would say" how do you watch that ?" so i would think that it would be a great oppurtunity that you are giving to the public, a chance to spend time with there family tosee the world from a totally different way, so to speak. i realize i didn't get to enter in time for the trip, but i hope and pray that whoever did get that oppurtunity to see what ls the greatness other than electronics, pants below the knees, etc.,i thank you in advance, because who was able to see space through your center, has got to be a very blessed person. thank you for giving the public the oppurtunity to see Gods greatness!!

i realize i am to late to qualify for the trip, but i would like to thank you in advance for giving the public an oppurtunity to see one of Gods most amazing and heart felt events! i would have liked to have had an oppurtunity to take my daughter to see the launch and the space center so that she can see the amazing center you must have over there and that there is so much more wonderful things in the world other than texting and talking on the phone, etc. she use to tell me"how can you watch star trek?" i use to tell her that there is so much more wonder in the world and beyond, that i would see the show and just imagine that i was on one of the launches. so i thank you for this oppurtunity and i hope and pray that this trip will be a life changing experience for our future, our children.

9.) I work at the KSC-VC and Astronaut Hall of Fame and actually the food at the dine with an astronaut is substantially better than what you mentioned. In fact none of the astronauts I know and work with ever ate the freeze-dried ice cream in space; only the real ice cream.

12.) Apollo 11 is at the Smithsonian, and Apollo 13 is at the Kansas Cosmosphere. We do have Wally Schirra's Sigma 7 Mercury capsule, and Apollo 14 "Kitty Hawk" that flew Alan Sheperd to the moon. We also have a real Gemini capsule, one of 3 remaining Saturn V rockets, and a host of actual rockets-though ones that haven't flewn before (or they would be burned up).

We also have an Astronaut Training Experience where people get to spend half a day training like the astronauts do--somewhat. You get to meet and have a photo taken with an astronaut, have a private Q&A with them, do computer-based ISS module installation training, training on the Multi-Axis Trainer (the spinny-thing from Space Camp the movie), training on our Micro-gravity Wall simulating walking in space, and a simulated space shuttle mission in our full-scale shuttle orbiter.

The ATX is what I work on primarily and it is a lot of fun. I get to meet really great people and listen to the astronauts talk about their experiences. My favorite is COL Bob Springer, USMC (ret.), a 2 time shuttle astronaut. I work with him all the time, and he was a letter of recommendation for me for the US Navy Officer programs. They are all great people and really down to Earth (pardon the pun). ATX is worth checking out if any of you come down this way.

The Kennedy Space Complex is a tremendous venue. My family had a chance to visit there last Summer, missing a shuttle launch by two days (drat!). Even at that, the bus tour by the mammoth Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB) was awe-inspiring, as was the tour through the old Apollo launch center. It truly was like stepping through a time machine. Driving by the world-famous "countdown clock" near the network broadcast centers was also a neat experience.

The only downside was that Trek 2009 was playing at the IMAX theater that is on the KSC grounds, but my daughter was spooked by the notion of the movie she had seen in the previews and didn't want to watch it. So, no Trek in IMAX for Dad. Alas.

Anyone who is in the Orlando area and has a day to invest in the Center, I'd highly recommend it. I can only imagine how cool it would be to witness a launch.

I grew up in Central Florida. If I wanted to see the shuttle launch, I just had to look out the window! No thanks to the contest!
