Captain Rickover the model IS the Stargazer. As has been stated before the artist probably didn't do any research before he started drawing. So he drew a generic looking ship that is meant to be the Stargazer. Anyone who has watch TNG should know that the ship in Picard's ready room is the Stargazer, the ship Picard served on before the Enterprise. He had very fond memories of that ship and that is why there is a model in his ready room. I hope this clears up any confusion people might have.

# 7

This model is not the Stargazer. Stargazer had 4 warp drives, this one has just one. Stargazer had no red nacelle-caps, this one has.

It has to be the Kelvin. I think it's a little tribute to the new movie.

Re: 4

Yeah, from that angle we should see Picard's replicator and the door to the bridge.

Holy crapballs, Batman! I got vertigo looking at that first shot of the Ready Room. Was the "artist" taking his inspiration from M.C. Escher?

yeah, not impressed by the art. The Enterprise is a mess, the features of Picard's ready room are all out of place and there's even a reverse angle of his quarters in that one panel.

You'd think the artist could do 5 minutes of research on the sets before he started drawing...

People, must I remind you again that it's the story that really matters and that the art is there to help it along, and also different people have different styles of drawing. NO TWO PEOPLE ARE GOING TO DRAW THE SAME CHARACTERS ALIKE. I'm getting tired of all the art bashing on this comic. So what if the art doesn't live up to your oh so high and mighty standards! Live with it and enjoy the story! Accept that everyone is different and that we all draw different too.
The model in Picard's ready room is of his first ship, the Stargazer. It's been there since the very first TNG episode.
