Bought myself a Sony Blu ray player and all Trek on Blu ray to date, all 11 Movies and 3 seasons of Original Trek! Is there anyone out there that thinks that there is minimal difference in the quality? I watched Insurrection in 2 dvd players simultaneously, one Blu ray and the other standard, and did find a difference for sure, but I’m not as convinced with the Original series season 1 vs. season 1 Remastered DVD’s? Is this because one (Insurrection) is more recent vs. the other ( TOS) which is far more dated, or should that even matter?For the most part however Bluray is awesome! Trek was my foray into the realm of Blu ray, followed by Torchwood on Blu ray, and from now on everything in Blu ray!!! Still pissed about Playmates Wave 2 figures being cancelled however! Really wanted 12″ versions of Nero, Scotty & Uhura as planned! Did get 12″ Sulu & Pike however!

I made a Star Trek scarf for my brother this Christmas. It was very painful to deal with– 5 days of knitting like mad XD

(The year before that, I made him a Star Trek themed Christmas stocking!)

I think they’re made in the UK. Took me a few weeks to get mine. Trekmovie featured them a bout a year ago.

I got the new Playmates Enterprise, which, for all the complaints online, I think is actually better than every other Playmate ship I’ve ever gotten. The size is smaller, yes, but it’s all one piece so the nacelles won’t constantly fall off. Plus the stand is awesome because it allows you to put the Enterprise in more than one position, as it is placed on top of a “position ball.” I love it and cannot wait to put it in my office, ready room style.

A good friend also bought me “Free Enterprise,” a painting from etsy.com which is the Const class Enterprise in a kind of surreal state. The artist, Anthony Butkovich, signed it: “…may you boldly go into new realms of self-governance, sovereign being, and total abundance. Warp Factor: Unlimited!”

Great x-mas.
