If he gives Breaking Dawn the Zemeckis MoCap treatment, even Twihards will be put off because of the motion capture style of Zemeckis. Afterall Jim Carrey’s A Christmas Carol freaked out teen girls.

Quinto and Pine will probably lose best male breakthrough to one of the Hangover boys.

As for Zoe? She will probably be beated to the post by Mia Wasikowska in the female breakthrough category.

See, in the prologue there’s an outbreak of Talosian torso lice (or plot device of choice) on the Enterprise which requires everyone to be waxed, tanned, and yes – OIL DIPPED as its only treatment (the mission will naturally take place after a twelve week diplomacy mission to Bodybyjaketron XII).

Don’t even stop with the guys – oil everyone. EVERYONE. Guys, girls, Nimoy, Scotty’s little green friend, multi-tentacled aliens – NO DEMOGRAPHIC LEFT BEHIND man. We’ve gotta have them dripping with the stuff until whoever made the Christina Aguilera “Dirty” video looks like a choir boy by comparison, you feeling this?

THAT’S when you launch into full on Space Vampire mode. Then throw a little Kirk\Spock\Uhura love triangle filled with angst, awkward dialogue, and Dakota Fanning for good measure – then BLIND THE WHOLE FREAKING THEATER when J.J bounces those lens flares off the whole oily cast like POW! I’m seeing serious dollar signs here man!

Yes I would have done things differently, but as long as it is a parallel universe I am happy for it to continue to run parallel with the other Treks.

I was wondering how accurate the polls actuallly are.

On startrek.com they had a poll for best Trek movie and the new movie was high up, I believe second place.

Yet another Startrek.com member did a poll for worst Star Trek film and the new movie came up as second worse.

Go figure

What I am thinking about this is how accurate is a poll. The small percentage of anti Star Trek is probably because there are more fans for it it on this site than there have been on other sites.

Where would I put the new Trek in the top 11 of Trek movies? About 5th place.

You are very-very wrong sir. I have not spouted anything as fact. I gave an opinion that I have formed from life experiences, which I derive from watching this same scenario being played out in the past. Everything I am seeing and hearing is pointing to the past, and how things went down with other franchises. Some of it is from the history of “Star Trek”, and how the franchise was forced into a 20 year hiatus. I have also created my opinion from what type of story telling worked in the past, and what hardcore and casual fans respond to in the long term.

Intuition based upon my 25 to 30 year fan experience with the franchise.

I am welcomed to voice my opinion in any manner, which I personally feel is appropriate at the time its given. As long as I am not attacking anyone, like you did, I should be free to express such a perspective on a publicly accessible forum.
