Ezri, the little counsel with space sickness was made a Captain? Bashir, the frontier doctor a spy? Sisko has abandoned his wife and daughter? The latest Trek books are an insult to the characters. This is why so many fans are turned off by the books. Even fan fiction is better than that

Okay, just so you guys don’t think I’m COMPLETELY wishy-washy, I do object to continuing story lines being a year or more apart. It was better the way they did the DAY OF HONOR, LOST ERA, and NEW EARTH books, in consecutive months. I feel this way because [a] I read a lot of other stuff in between and [b] my memory retention is not what it once was.

Sheesh, so many of you people are awfully picky! While I may like some better than others, I’m happy with any Trek book that comes out. And I don’t buy e-books, so having them out in paper is not a reissue with me, bur rather a delayed treat.
IMHO David Mack is the best Trek author out there today.

Typhon Pact novels are going to Kick Ass. They’re gonna shake things up even more in the Trek Universe now because of it, I’m just curious if it’s gonna be reflected at all in STO, not that it matters much, as I don’t have much faith in STO going anywhere, whereas the book series are very well established. Either way, looking forward to status quo being seriously UPHEAVED this fall.

david macks’ sorrow of empires was great–totally enjoyed it and wished it was longer!–but no DS9, enterprise–romulan war continuation and next gen book kinda sucks–also could this site make the navigation easier to find book news?

Too bad about the cancelled books–hope they will be released someday?

In a perfect “universe” I wish we would get a regular schedule of 2-3 books in each series–ds9, voyager etc every year but, I know budgets are what they are

They’re already available on NOOK, and it costs a hell of a lot less than a iPad.

Schools have already expressed interest in NOOK. Can you imagine not having to lug around a ton of textbooks to and from school?

The future is here.
