Its time to link to some of the viral fun the Internet is having with Star Trek. This week we have a "Devil in the Dark" techno dance video, more LOLCats+Trek, Hitler taking on Khan, a Trek-themed drunk driving PSA, and even more ST09 trailer mashups. Check it all out below.
Devil in the Mashup
Jeyenkai on Youtube has created a fun techno-mashup from "Devil in the Dark" that has picked up 38,000+ views in just a couple of weeks.
LOLTREK
The Internet was made for three things: Star Trek, LOLCats and Porn. Today, the folks at io9 put together a nice collection of a combination of two out of three of those, check out the full gallery at io9, but this one the fave:
Hitler vs. Khan
Another thing headed to the top of Internet Memes is putting your own subtitles onto clips from Der Untergang ("Downfall") and making Hitler yell about whatever the latest outrage is (in the last week Hitler lost it over the iPad and he hasn’t been happy about STO downtime either). However HitlerrantsParodies on Youtube has come up with something clever, mashing up Hitler and Wrath of Khan. Here is part 1

Star Trek helps send message – don’t drink and drive
Late last year there was a viral video of a very drunk stumbling guy trying to buy more beer at a convenience store. The folks at Roosterteeth saw the man’s lurching around the store and were reminded of Star Trek, and how the cast would throw themselves around the ship, and so they made this PSA mash up.
ST09 Trailer Mashes still being made
Star Trek movie trailer mashups are so 2009, but they are still being made. Here is a pretty good one taking Pixar’s Cars into the final frontier.
And here is another going from the other way around. The new Mass Effect 2 video game has a lot of Star Trek feeling to it, and this mashup of the Mass Effect 2 trailer with Trek 2009 images drives that home.

Man, so much Trek nerdiness. While whoever did the “Der Untergang” parody should have normalized the volume and used a DVD rip for consistent picture quality… a pretty damn good mashup :)

The Hitler one was all right, too.
It is very disconcerting, I have to say, to see images of the Enterprise associated with Hitler. Not in the sense I’m offended, it just is most disconcerting.
The Hitler Khan mashup was awesome, well done. The LOL Cat was great to.
