ShatWatch: Bill reads From Sh*t My Dad Says + Free Pilot Tickets + New Shatner Social Network March 8, 2010

by TrekMovie.com Staff , Filed under: Celebrity, Sci-Fi, Shatner , trackback

We have a quick ShatWatch for you, with a new video of William Shatner reading some of the tweets that are the basis of his new sitcom Sh*t My Dad Says. We also have info on how you can see a taping of the pilot. Plus Bill has launched a new social networking site. More details below.

Shatner reads tweets from @shitmydadsays
As we reported a couple of weeks back, William Shatner has been cast in the new sitcom, Sh*t My Dad Says, which seems to be a modern-day Sanford and Son spawned from the popular Twitter account @shitmydadsays. Now here is a video from the Shorty Awards with Bill reading some of his favorite tweets.

Free tickets to pilot taping of Sh*t My Dad Says

The pilot for Sh*t My Dad Says will be taping on March 29th and March 30th at Warner Brothers in Burbank. You can get tickets to the taping at audiencesunlimited.com. Note, for WB shows you need to set the Quantity to 1, but you can order multiple tickets you just have to resubmit the form.

Shatner Launches new Social Networking Site

William Shatner has added yet another facet to his media empire, with the launch of Myouterspace.com, a new social network for sci-fi fans "with a passion for the arts." The site is divided into specialties (animation, acting, writing, gaming, production, and music) each with its own "Planet". Plus their are a number of “starships” for specific projects, which will recruit talent from the different planets. It’s a little complicated but the site is boasting that it will bring creative people together to build new projects, all under the watchful eye of The Shat. .

Another Trek connection is that the ship and planet art was done by veteran Star Trek designer John Eaves. Even if you aren’t interested, you should at least check out the cheesy intro video from Shatner.

Shat My Dad Says, anyone?

2. octorox - March 8, 2010

myouterspace is terrible name for a website….
That being said I think it’s a cool idea.

3. JoCor - March 8, 2010

AHHAHAHA my god!!! I’m so EXCITED. I hope they pickup the pilot. I imagine they will.

Shatner is an inspiration to people everywhere that are at risk of aging but more than anything the concept is such a great one to be turned into a show and Shatner will be HILARIOUS.

I can’t wait!

I’ve been loving Shit My Dad Says for a few weeks now. I don’t know if that means it will make a good TV show…. but I hope so…. It seems perfect for the Shat. Stacy Keach would have been good for it too…

Most recent Shit My Dad Says post that I’ve read?

“I lost 20 pounds…How? I drank bear piss and took up fencing. How the f*** you think, son? I exercised.”

I hope I’m not violating anything by passing that on….

5. Brett Campbell - March 9, 2010

He will be funny as hell in it. Wish I had TV for it.

6. Buzz Cagney - March 9, 2010

Twitter- I just don’t get it. Seriously, who cares? Oh, everybody but me so it seems!

7. Capt. Roykirk - March 9, 2010

@6, actually I don’t care about twitter either.

Don’t get me wrong, I like Capt. Kirk, he’s the man as far as Starfleet captians go. However it sounds like a stupid show, and I think his new site sounds weird. Also, anyone notice the Republic looks like the Destiny/Trident class from STO?

8. wickedjacob - March 9, 2010

This is as good an idea as the geico caveman show. Which is to say its not a very good idea.

9. I'm dead Jim - March 9, 2010

6. Buzz, I don’t care either.

10. Andy Patterson - March 9, 2010

Only Shatner. I love him.

11. thebiggfrogg - March 9, 2010

I like the Shat (though he does seem to do ANYTHING for a buck, sometimes with good results, other times–not so much).

I haven’t lived in the States since 2005, but if we are now basing our TV shows on Twitter feeds our already low standards for entertainment have truly gone down the sewer tube. Are Blipverts far behind?

Ah well, it is just TV. Slouching to Gamorrah. I’m just glad that our news industry and political system are still efficient, high toned, and thoughtful as ever. ; )

12. Locke for President - March 9, 2010

Should be changed to:

“Sh*t My Shat Says.”

13. I'm dead Jim - March 9, 2010

@3 Ha ha! I think we’re all at risk of aging. I’m at risk of aging as I type this.

14. I'm dead Jim - March 9, 2010

oops… I meant to add that the Shat seems to be handling it better than most.

15. Gary - March 9, 2010

Gotta love the Shat!!!

16. Jim Cude - March 9, 2010

Wow- Shat really kills the funny inherent in S-MyDadSays. If that’s the level of performance he’s planning to deliver that series is doomed.

17. Scott B. here. - March 9, 2010

I’m not sure Shatner is the guy for this show. He doesn’t come to the project with the requisite cantankerousness. He’s too hip, energetic and happy to pull it off, I’m thinking.

SMDS cries out for a Walter Matthau type.

That said, long live Shatner!

Scott B. out.

18. Lauren - March 9, 2010

Shatner is a legend love him

19. BeatleJWOL - March 9, 2010

Definitely, Shatner’ll have to play an Archie Bunker or a Fred Sanford type for this to work.

Still… :p

20. J30 - April 18, 2010

I see Jerry Stiller playing the outspoken dad. No stretch of the imagination there!

21. AngieXOXO - April 18, 2010

i attended the taping of the pilot and cant wait until the show begins airing.
