Zoe Saldana isn’t wrong in her perception, but it’s not really “new” thing to use “ethnic” in the manner that she recounts.

“Ethnic” has been used, for a long time (certainly since before she was born), in the context to which she refers, to mean non-WASPY.

Basically, if you didn’t look English, you looked “ethnic.” Nowadays, the umbrella of non-ethnic has been expanded from WASPY to include many more European looks, but certainly not all of them.

Yea I’m pretty sure ethnic already has a definition and it’s not the “n-word”. People are so ignorant. And skin color is skin color…. If your dark your dark if your black your black if your white your white. Color has nothing to do with your ethnic background well not totally.

But, Diora Baird was originally supposed to play an Orion as well.

So, what happened to Diora Baird?

Was she being considered for the same role as Rachel Nichols, but the role went to the latter and we never got word?

Wrong – too many parents do a poor job, at least partly because they don’t know an awful lot about the subject themselves outside of their personal experiences and prejudices.

Sex education should be taught in schools. It’s that simple.

Gotta disagree with ya Dennis. I’ve seen too many scenes of kids practicing putting on condoms on cucumbers for my tastes. Sure, a basic understanding of the human body is one thing, but to use the blanket statement that “there are too many stupid parents out there” as an excuse to keep teaching kids that it’s okay to express themselves sexually with their bodies when their minds have barely begun to mature in that department? No thanks.

There’s a reason why more states are putting more restrictions on learning permits when it comes to teens learning to drive and it should be the same when it comes to their body parts.

I don’t want come across as a bossy boss, but since your post already does, It would do our society good for all families to find a church their comfortable going to and start learning about some aspects of the body and the mind from there and not just a (study supported) predominantly liberal, publicly funded education system whose ultimate goal is keep the gravy train going. There’s a reason why the “war on poverty” has never been won, and it’s not been for a lack of money.
