If you found the video to be funny, good for you. But most people (myself included) didn’t find it funny at all. Some people were offended, but I wasn’t. I just didn’t see any humor, that’s all. This was a terrible parody.

Again this is just one of many silly videos of the day, it is not meant to offend, the title is a joke. Those offended need to lighten up, those using this as an excuse to attack religion need to shut up

Guys, there is no way this can be taken seriously. It sucks, plain and simple.

Then throw that softball up there and let people laugh at it, laugh at the people in the video, laugh at what the message of the video was supposed to be (hard to say, it was edited by someone with the intent that it didn’t make any sense), etc.

Let’s see how well that would play.

Like someone wrote, the whole article was inviting trouble. I guess I keep checking back because my hope would be that the owner of this site would eventually realize that and make a wiser choice.

And I would be just as persistant about this if the content was attacking any other group. It’s just not becoming of those people who claim to appreciate the ideals of a Roddenberry universe. Letting this one slide by and laughing with it just wouldn’t sit well with my ideals, I guess.

If using the parody name “Ritard” in place of “Picard” is offensive to mentally challenged people, what about the line in Star Trek IV where the man interogating Chekov says: “Of course he’s a Russkie, but I think he must be some kind of retard or something!” Are we all upset about that too?

Star Trek was about many things, and tolerance was one of them. I believe we all need to be a lot more tolerant of one another, Christians and athiests, gay and straight, black and white, etc.

I think that labeling the video “Jesus hates klingons” was probably just inviting trouble, and similar labels probably should be reconsidered in the future.

That’s not what I wrote. I was speaking of the ideology (the Bible), not about every single christian. There are obviously loads of kind-hearted christians that wouldn’t hurt a fly. My own parents for instance.

Now can we please move on?
