on thinking a little more on this subject , i believe this is a good time to come up with something fresh on sci fi sorry .. sy fy- pronounced -SCI-FI- :)
we have many different Univere’s created already from star trek, star wars farscape, baylon5, firefly, aliens,ANDROMEDA etc most of these sci fi’s are set far in the future’s of possible different dimensions\ offset ’s etc i would like to see something more to home something maybe more people can relate to
ideas
1. sanctuary – mobile space unit possibly giant asteroid transformed into a space journey vehicle travelling through space with a Glass dome +plant life + people –
OBJECT -seeking out new planets to terra-form + mine + plunder
as space travel takes so long in the early days its a generational travel ship idea ..
pluses this could be set in our own universe and learn people about what is out there close to ourselves

its very strange how it all works.. the powers that be will run rubbish like ghost hunters caprica and warehouse 13 all really boring with nothing really to offer but will scrap the good shows like firefly not even 1 full season..
were lucky with farscape which ran many episodes – but still finished before it should of ..
what’s the point of a sci fi channel that doesnt show real sci fi i dont think i can handle another star trek – too prim n proper .. can we please have a down to earth real world sci fi with dirt and real issues for the people out on the frontier come on folks
on a positive note ive just started watching eureka find this a good program well done to whoever concerned

I was hoping for a series where a futuristic earth has been watching and waiting to see what the BSG crew would do after they settle on “earth”. Later they would come pick up those humans who wanted to go to the real futuristic earth. They will not take any Cylons to the real earth because they have their own plan and won’t risk Cylons getting in the way.They had been looking for the myth of the twelve colonies and when they find Galacticans on the earth like planet they new they’d found the way. They now have the path back to the twelve colonies. The human plan?Take back the twelve colonies from the Cylons = Action,adventure,deceptions etc. All the things that made the remake of BSG…intriguing.

And sorry to post again, but I imagine that RDM would never, ever do a story about Kobol. Right now it’s a mysterious part of the universe, like the Cylons in episode 33. It would be nearly impossible to do justice to the idea of god’s and human’s living together, but it’s a great abstract concept to allude to. Like the backstory of the Cylon’s, whatever he fills in there isn’t going to be as interesting (to us) as the things we imagine. IMHO.

BSG is my all time favorite sci fi series, but I’m not sure the bsg-verse has another story I want to see. I want to see a series where the conclusion is NOT already written. Please no first Cylon war.

If RDM wants to develop a new show, I humbly suggest that he should be true to his storytelling mode, make the show open ended and allow it to develop organically. My and many of my friends biggest problem with BSG was that as a series it was organic but that in the end it forced the characters to act in unrealistic ways in order to arrive at it’s preordained destination.

Couldn’t we try and apply that BSG’s same sense of realism throughout a whole story, take out all the religious mumbo jumbo, explore an open, grounded universe with all the complexity of our own and allow it to grow and develop it’s own mythos?

Please?

(PS Caprica is very good I think.)

I do little new Battlestar Galactia tv show but I like old Battlestar Galactica tv show with could be have jump drive and new high tech computer and other devices designs. I hope that new tv show at the part of old and new BSG.
I am fan of Star Trek and Star Wars and Stargate so long. Some good fan of Babylon 5 and BSG.
I would like see new Star Trek as Enterprise – J on the new tv show as spin-off soon.

I’d be more than happy to see this fourth show be a tale from the First Cylon War. I get the impression that it’ll be nigh-on impossible to show the war in all its bloody glory with the current (marvelous) cast of billionaire industrialists, lawyers, and teenagers, so making a new show to showcase the War makes sense.
