IDW has provided us with the June comic book solicitations, which contains two new Star Trek issues and one new Star Trek trade paperback collection. One of the new issues is for a new original series Star Trek collection from the Tipton brothers called "Burdon of Knowledge". See below for details on the June Star Trek comics.

UPDATE: Star Trek Movie Adaptation #5 Coming in July
IDW informs TrekMovie that Issues 5 and 6 of the Star Trek movie adaptation will be released in July and August respectively.
The trade paperback collection combining all six issues has been confirmed to be coming out in October and can be pre-ordered at Amazon for $19.99.

Love the cover for the Burden Of Knowledge!
But the McCoy cover is kind of wierd. I like the beard on the doctor, but the alien looks like a cross between a two-headed E.T and a contortionist horse.
That beard he beams up with on TMP screams that he had a weird decade. I’m glad they’re grabbing a story from this period.
Spock has creepy eyes, but generally the “Burden of Knowledge” cover is just as well done as the “Mission’s End” ones were.

That is a “Pierson’s Puppeteer” from Larry Niven’s “Known Space” series. Peronally I’d prefer a bit more originality – come on guys, we DO read! Hope Niven doesn’t mind…

I always love Joe Corroney covers, and even though Spock looks insane, that one looks pretty sharp.
Considering Niven adapted his own Soft Weapon to become one of TAS’ best episodes in the Slaver Weapon… along with it the Kzinti, who many had hoped would be turning up in Star Trek: Enterprise if Manny Coto had been given another season…
I don’t think Niven minds one sigma iota that a Puppeteer appers. Any crossover from Known Space encourages you to read those books! And they’re all VERY good.

If you look closely, you’ll notice that we can’t see exactly what Kirk is doing with his hands.
Spock has creepy eyes? Spock looks insane? Actually, it looks like he’s in pon farr again. I think that illustration of Spock was inspired by Amok Time when he was ready to battle Kirk!

A Puppeteer…how freakin’ cool! So, the Trekverse has Puppeteers, Kzinti… what’s next? :-)
I’m glad to buy the Bryne issues, but I really want more Star Trek by Gordon Purcell, who draws the all time best Trek comics. Too many of IDw’s books have indifferent art by Italians I’ve never heard of. It’s almost like the Gold Key comics, drawn by Italians who never saw the shows! When the art improves, I’ll buy more gladly!
I have updated the article with confirmation from IDW that the Star Trek movie adaptation will pick up again in July with issue 5, and issue 6 will arrive in August

I dunno…Spock’s eyes don’t strike me as creepy. They’re just catching the light. They’re all excellent likenesses, BTW.
Anybody who criticizes the casting of Chris Pine because he’s a pretty boy needs to take another look at young Shat. I’m a straight guy, but I don’t mind saying that he was an extremely handsome man. And he’s matured very well too.

Wouldn’t Data be ambidextrous? Why would it matter to him which hand he uses to fire his phaser? He’s an android. Of course, Brent Spiner could be left handed, but it would be beside the point. Data might use his left hand to use a phaser just out of habit.
As always the art proves that people overall except for Burne, at IDW cannot draw. Awful art and awful covers.

like the stories & art but thoes generic covers r boring- all the same 1 enterprise & a couple of actors per cover all done the same regardless of which story it is or who drew it
yeah to covers r becoming bland & indistinguishable “what series is this- which issues? was that the one here last week?” hmmmm
i miss the painted ones- show us some flavor from the story…
