Wil Wheaton Headed to ‘Eureka’ + Robert Duncan McNeil Directing ‘V’

A couple of Star Trek veterans are returning to the world of sci-fi. First up Star Trek The Next Generation’s Wil Wheaton has been cast to do an episode of Syfy’s Eureka. And Star Trek Voyager’s Robert Duncan McNeil is directing a new episode of the ABC alien show V. More details below.

Wheaton To Eureka

The Syfy channel has sent out the following press release:

Actor, author and blogger Wil Wheaton of the popular television series Star Trek: The Next Generation and the classic film Stand By Me, has signed for a guest starring appearance on the 4th season of Eureka, one of Syfy’s most popular original series. The new season is slated to return to Syfy on Friday, July 9 at 9:00PM ET/PT.

In episode 403 of Eureka titled “All The Rage,” sci-fi fan favorite Wheaton plays the brilliant Dr. Isaac Parrish, head of the Non-Lethal Weapons Lab at Global Dynamics.  Parrish’s dry wit and superior attitude make him a thorn in Fargo’s (Neil Grayston) side — with potentially disastrous consequences. The episode featuring Wheaton is scheduled to air on Friday, July 23rd.

Wil Wheaton also discusses his new role on his blog, where he says he is headed to Vancouver this week to shoot the episode. Wil also blogged this fun picture from the recent PAX gaming convention.

And don’t forget next Monday Wheaton returns  to the CBS comedy Big Bang Theory (playing an evil version of himself) in the episode "The Wheaton Recurrence".

Robert Duncan McNeil directing V

Star Trek Voyager’s Robert Duncan McNeil (VOY: Paris), is once again going to engage with some aliens. According to visitorsite.net McNeil is currently directing an episode of the ABC alien show V. Since his time on Voyager, McNeil has moved behind the camera, and most recently he has been working as a producer and director on the NBC show Chuck.

MWAHAHAHAHAHA!!! It’s like a ST:TNG ‘The First Duty’ where are they now article!

I love the inifinite Wheaton pic. Too funny!

Yes! I loved “The First Duty” episode. One of my favorites.

WHEEEEEATOOOONNNN!

Roxann just directed tha last aired episode of CAPRICA. Maybe that was mentioned and I missed it.

Whhil Whheaton! Way to go! Coolhh Whip–
Cool to Lt Paris too! Stay in our fave genre guys!

I hope Wil, Robert, Rox, and Jonathan can help push these shows beyond the bare bones melodrama where they’re apparently stuck now. All of ’em show potential. But, they’re so 2D, especially in the dialogue department.

The first duty must be… to the audience. Here’s to hoping.

Best t-shirt ever, Wheaton. Brilliant.

Good for Frakes and McNeil.

That Frakes preview looked superb, and I’m gonna drop some coin on ‘V’ through iTunes seeing as I’m overseas.

Is it just me, or is Robert McNeil looking more like Mike Nelson from Mystery Science Theater 3000?

Subterraenean Press has published Will Wheaton”s book – The Happiest Days of Our Lives.

Wheaton should play Riker in the next version of the Next Generation LOL

Eureka’s Global Dynamics has nothing on Fringe’s Massive Dynamics! :-)

Wil, buddy, please shave the beard. I know it’s probably the “baby face anxiety” you’ll have to deal with for many more years to come, but add a pair of glasses and you’d look like Kevin Smith. Especially on that t-shirt.

LOL..okay, just an observation ’cause I’m bored.

Please let me know if you’re looking for a author for your blog. You have some really good articles and I think I would be a good asset. If you ever want to take some of the load off, I’d absolutely love to write some material for your blog in exchange for a link back to mine. Please blast me an email if interested. Cheers!
