Nice. These are cool replicas.

Absolutely well worth the money. Looking forward to getting mine. Already have it pre-ordered.

The price isn’t half bad – good quality.

I have the Science Tricorder and it is spectacular. I figured I didn’t need the Medical Tricorder, but now I think my collection will need all three. This one looks very, very cool.

Great job on these prop replicas EE! They are wonderful.

Diamond Select rules!!

More figures please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Time for some more TOS & TNG bad guys!

hey DST more aliens fiugres of TOS in special Andorian, please :)

LOL!!! Talk about accurate!!! They even got replicas of the sky blue and hot pink dirt sample props used!!! xD WORD!!!

the science tricorder was awesome, be cool to have this if I can afford it. Its a bad to time to be made redundant from my job.

yawn. When will Diamond Select realise that they should give their Star Trek license up? let some other company with fresh ideas have a crack at it. All i hear from this company these days is the same ridiculous excuse after another.

Like Berman on Star Trek before Abrams, DST had their moment and did some great stuff as Art Asylum but after a while it’s just been rehashed toys in different packaging.

Still waiting on the Enterprise-B, Enterprise-C, Excelsior, Reliant…….

The ones that most people would actually like….
I believe the word is; “demand”…..

Come on DST…….. A USS Reliant please.

Gosh, if only we’d had replicas like this 40 years ago!

Does it find gold? I mean…

A stupid question perhaps, are these tricorders 1:1 scale?

Anyone know for sure?

Art Asylum always makes great quality toys but another tricorder? I know its easier to just use an existing product, put in some different sounds and mix up the accessories but I wish they’d get just a little more daring with their offerings. Their ST:TMP and STIII:TWOK phasers were fantastic and I’d like to see them release more items that we haven’t seen already multiple times.

I have the Science Tricorder and it seems to be 1:1 scale. Highy recommended!

#13 – Yes, I’m pretty sure the DST/Art Asylum Tricorders are 1:1 scale.

DST has announced TWOK communicator later this year along with the Excelsior and possibly Enterprise B variant (though this may get pushed to next year). The Klingon BOP will be out next year as well as a Klingon disruptor from the movies. From their forums, a Reliant is one they want to do so I suspect it will be coming soon, as well as a ST:III phaser.

I vote for the ST III phaser! A beutiful design.

Did anyone else who got the Medical Tricorder find that McCoy’s voice seems a bit sped up and high? Or was that just mine?

Yeah. It’s sped up. Oh well.
Wish DeForest had been around to hear it.

The geological varient is so obscure I might have to get it.
Kinda like Dr. M’Benga’s medical scanner.

But still no MOTORIZED scanned, I guess.

I have pre-ordered through New Force Comics…as it’s a “SHARED” exclusive..but this forum NEVER mentions NFC EVER! I’ve been ordering through them since the first TNG wave of figs from PM hit.
I love my Science/Medical Tricorders, and owning this unique (& only seen one episode?)”That Which Survives”…prop will be sweet!

These prop replicas show just how badly they’ve aged. A Zune looks more high tech than these “23rd century” items.

I made a little side-by-side comparison between the Master Replicas version and the Diamond Select “Science Tricorder” version.

Very disappointed with the medical tricorder. The hand scanner only spins with a manual wheel and its volume is very low.

That’s ridiculous. We need another tricorder that’s not that different from the others? And these people are making money on it and keep putting them out. I need another one of these in my house like I need a hit on the head. My wife wants another one of these cluttering up our house like she wants a hit in the head. This is a waste of money. I’m ordering mine today.

Now where’s my servo, boys?

ooo! ooo! ooo! I want one! I want one!
(jumping up and down and in circles and flailing arms like a 6 year old on christmas morning)

Boy do I ever need to grow up ;)

#22 The first cell phones looked more futuristic than this tricorder LOL

#24 … you can convert it as I did with mine. Even bought a second one to convert for a medical pouch. You can see my results here:

wow…….another tricorder……..how bout some different ships now. I’d like a Defiant and an Enterprise-C. B would be nice too. Flesh out some of the new movie ships as well. The ones seen in the background shots.

22

If the tricorder could do exactly what they did on the show…it looks fine to me. Doctors have told me nothing in my life.

I have both the medical and science tricorder. My medical tricorder arrived beat up and had the high tinny McCoy voice. I told Entertainment Earth (after getting zero response from AA/DST) and they were more than happy to replace it. For the money they are nifty toy replicas that I suppose one could use as a toy. But then again, I have all of the AA/DST prop stuff. Love ’em. Gonna get this one too.

I have some of the ships, too, but I get much more satisfaction from building my own from models. Nothing that AA/DST could produce would rival the Reliant I built or the BOP. My TNG D is better, too.

#31 – That’s well and fine but can you mass produce a Reliant?

That’s the trick, to get something that looks accurate yet inexpensive enough to produce for a mass audience. I enjoy my DST Enterprise-E and “All Good Things” Enterprise-D immensely.

#32

Why do I want to mass produce them? I’m not in the business of selling them. The point I was getting at was that if somebody REALLY wants one of the ships that AA/DST hasn’t made, then they can have a go at building their own. They might like the results they get even better than those of a mass produced ship.

Heck, I own 4 of AA/DST’s various Enterprises.

I’m not knocking the mass produced stuff. Just trying to let people know that there are options out there for ships if they would like to add to their fleet. Model building is a hobby anyone can do. And with a bit of practice just about anyone can build a model that rivals anything they see onscreen. I have one of Polar Lights/R2’s Refit Enterprises on the bench and am going to go all out with the best lighting kit I can get my hands on. At around 3 feet long it’s going to be a show-stopper. And for the year it will take me to get it finished I will have spent many, many relaxing hours fiddling around with all the details and thoroughly enjoy myself.

So… Can we get accurate readings of that volcano in Iceland with this new Geologic Tricorder?

My brother asked if to pick up the ST09 tricorder if I saw it priced for clearance. Found one at Toys R Us today. Looks OK, but I prefer the classic TOS tricorder, even if it is dated. These look great, but money’s a little tight these days.

Also found the Hot Wheels Enterprise Refit and Reliant. Not priced to clear but not bad. Since I haven’t built my Reliant model yet (how many years has it been?), I wanted a little version to tide me over. And of course you can’t have the Reliant without the Enterprise, right? As far as die cast toys go, they’re pretty sweet.

I have the science tricorder, gold-handled phaser and communicator all from DS/AA. Sweet stuff. I also have a bunch of their figures, including two limited numbered “First Contact” Data figures as well as a Sulu one signed by George Takei. I also have the TWOK Enterprise, TOS Mirror Enterprise, Enterprise-E and Enterprise-D.

Diamond Select and Art Asylum had better keep them coming! :-)

Fabulous! New place to keep my stash, I mean, who would think to look there?

This geo tric looks awesome, as did DST’s medical and science tricorders. Can’t wait for the geo version!

I’m 47 years old and I want one! The model of this I made in 1976 broke a long time ago.

Hey, what happened to John Tenuto?

The medical tricorder was a dud. A waste of money. This looks to be almost as bad; cheaply produced. Didn’t use DeForest Kelly’s voice, etc. Which is a shame because their phaser and communicator were so well done for the price.

Anthony Thompson–what are you talking about? The DST TOS med tric DID use DeForest Kelley’s voice as “Dr. McCoy.”

And this is a toy, not a hand-made prop!

41.

It was supposed to be his voice. But…none of the recordings sound remotely like him. And, yes, it’s a toy. But so were the communicator and phaser products. They were made much better.

#42

I don’t own the medical tricorder but I own the science version. That version has great sound and the screen is better lit. I’ve heard the medical tricorder isn’t as good when it comes to sound and lights.
The geological tricorder looks like it could be better as well.
Wierd.

Cool prop. I’m seriously considering, even though I own the sci tricorder.

Did we ever see an actual “geological” tricorder in the show?

The only episode I remember seeing it in features Lee Meriwether.

http://tos.trekcore.com/gallery/albums/3×17/thatwhichsurvives_219.jpg

The “soil samples” make a cool accessory to an otherwise drab-looking variant.

I remember the geological tricorder quite well from “That Which Survives,” and think this variant is molto cool … but I don’t remember the soil sample vials from the show. I remember bigger sample kits on other episodes like “Wink of an Eye,” but they didn’t look like this. Are these modeled after anything ever seen on the show?

Scott B. out.

47

I remember it in that episode….”I am for you D’Amato”.

#41

That IS De Kelley’s voice on the med tricorder. You probably have one with the faulty chips. The voice is being played too fast and makes his voice sound high pitched.

Yes the Geo tricorder strikes a cord. I’m ordering my own now. The one I swiped from poor D’Amato broke down! Just kiddind
