The network upfronts being held in New York have yielded good news for another Star Trek vet. Today ABC revealed their fall schedule and it includes Body of Proof, a new medical show featuring Star Trek Voyager’s Borg Babe Jeri Ryan. More details and cast photo below. [UPDATE: Video previews].
Jeri Ryan returns to TV in Body of Proof
Since her stint on Star Trek Voyager came to an end, Jeri Ryan has been pretty busy, including main cast roles on Boston Public and Shark, as well as recurring roles on a number of other series, including Leverage, The OC and Law & Order: SVU. And now Ryan returns in ABC’s new medical procedural, Body of Proof. The show stars Dana Delany (Desperate Housewives), with Ryan as part of the supporting cast. Body of Proof will air Fridays at 9:00 p.m. starting this fall.

Dr. Megan Hunt (Dana Delany) was in a class of her own, a brilliant neurosurgeon at the top of her game. But her world is turned upside down when a devastating car accident puts an end to her time in the operating room. Megan resumes her career as a medical examiner, determined to solve the puzzle of who or what killed the victims. Her instincts are sharp, but she’s developed a reputation for graying the lines of where her job ends and where the police department’s begins. It turns out her career isn’t the only thing that will need to be rebuilt; Megan’s family has taken a backseat to her ambition, and now she’s discovering there’s a lot of work to do when it comes to dissecting her relationships with the living.

No, Jeri had a staring role in Boston Public. She did do a couple of guest roles on Boston Legal, but that was only two episodes.

12 – I have to disagree. I LOVE Star Trek on TV…but I think it’s too soon. I would much rather wait a few more years, get one or two more movies out with the new cast, and then have them take time to develop something that will be thought provoking, exciting, engaging, and fresh. Something that both honors the past but stands on its own merits. I’d be afraid if they tried to pump a series out while the new film crew is still just getting started that it would be a hack job and get canceled too quickly. I share your passion though!
I give it 6-8 episodes.

I can’t wait to see Body of Proof. This is my favorite kind of movie and I will
enjoy Dana Delany so much more in this type of movie, although I have seen about all of her pictures. She is such a good actress I think the best
today that she deserves a good long running series with her as the main
lead.
Just what we need – another hospital drama trying to be Gray’s Anatomy. The cast photo says it all: two gorgeous, appealing women, handsome guy/love interest, black guy, black woman, older authority figure and young intern guy for the twenty-somethings. All that’s missing is an Asian character that I’m sure they’ll add later. I love Jeri and Dana and hope it’s good, but this is iffy at best.
Dana Delaney is absolutely perfect at her new role in “BODY OF PROOF”.
