Photo of the Day: Simon Pegg iPad Plea For Help

Star Trek's new Scotty Simon Pegg is probably the most prolific Twitterer of all the Star Trek celebs. And he has tweeted a funny image, seemingly poking fun at Apple's new iPad, that earns him our Photo of the Day (a periodic feature of TrekMovie.com).

Pegg shrinks

The new Apple iPad may be the hip new thing, but some say it is just a giant sized iPod Touch/iPhone (it does run the iPhone OS, now called iOS). It seems Simon Pegg decided to make this point in a tweet he sent out yesterday:

@simonpegg: Hello? Ambulance? I'M SHRINKING!!!

See a fun photo?

If you have suggestions for a photo of the day:  E-mail our tipline.

Thanks to Mike for Tip

Ha, ha, ha, ha, that’s funny! I’d never get an iPad. I don’t see the point.

First?

loool, thats a nice one xD

CoompUUuuTeeerRr HallLLlloooOOoo

I use my iPad to post on here Ciarán.

I love my iPad and use it to access TrekMovie all the time. It’s great (and no, I’m not an Apple fanboy).

HA! :D

Ha ha! I love you, Simon Pegg.

@#5 Yet you paid apple $500+ for one?

Riiiight… No fan boy here…

Haha, oh Simon!

Lol i really did LOL! lol. I love this guy. Easily one of the funniest guys alive. I love him in How to loose friends and alienate people. Such a fun movie.

Ciarán – No, last.

Simon is a funny guy. :)

5- OK….but what ELSE do (can) you do with it?
Seriously.
Pegg rules, BTW.

I like things, they make us go

Kinda like a laxative???

LOL! I follow Simon on Twitter. He is one funny guy! His iPad tweet had me dying with laughter. He was fantastic as Scotty in Star Trek XI.

#10 – How to *loose* friends and alienate people???

Do you watch the TV show “Loost”?

…bad spelling FTL (for the *lose*)

I wish the iPad did have a phone feature!

-sent from my iPad

I’m waiting for the iPhone 4 first, to replace my 3gs. I’ll probably get an iPad 2, especially if they bump the screen resolution. The iPad is pretty nice though and if I had the money to throw away, I’d get one now.

I think that it is ridiculous that the iPad doesn’t have the phone or a camera. When I can video chat with the iPad, maybe I’ll get one.

Simon Pegg on the other hand is awesome, can video chat and goes well with most everything.

sort of reminds you of the old “brick” phones, except slimmer and wider.

Speak up, I can’t hear you… Blasted 21st Century technology…..

Corinthian7, I’m just not an Apple fan. Respect to you and those who did get one, I’m just not that interested. If Windows came up with something similar, I’d consider it, though. LOL.

8. So, any product you buy you are a fanboy of that brand? Seeing as how there isn’t exactly a glut of tablets on the market currently you don’t exactly have a plethora of choice.

sloooooooooooow news day…..

Adam Savage is NOT pleased. Lol.

LOL… Simon’s a trip. Hope he gets a bit more screen time in the sequel.

Apple could release iHerpes, and people would line up around the block on launch day to get their hands on it. Great marketers (or carnies, depending on your viewpoint).

#3 – my thought exactly! =P

“Computer? Coooompuuuuuteeeer?”

#22, Oh don’t worry, now that “iCrosoft ” is opening retail stores which look, smell, sound, and act just like the Apple Stores they’re located right next to, I’m sure you’ll see a “iNdows” touch screen device that doesn’t actually need the stylus Bill Gates said was a necessity for tablet-based computing (though they’ll probably sell a pen for it too just to keep Bill happy). It’s just too bad they don’t have any original ideas of their own, just a Monopoly.

What a sense of humor!

@28 And you think apple does have any original ideas? True originality went out the door the day mass media came in. Touch screens have been around, and the idea for the iPad has been around since the 90’s (technology just wasn’t up to standard yet). Also if you are saying that Apple is more original than Microsoft then that is slightly incorrect as well. Microsoft might “steal” ideas from apple, but that is business. A business makes a niche for themself, and then they find out what the competition is doing. Finally they do it better, hopefully to keep the competition from making money.

Why does there have to be a war among consumers of Microsoft and Apple? I can understand the companies battling it out, but why are purchasers of the iPad mocked in some quarters? I don’t get it! Why do ‘PC fanboys’ consider it necessary to mock Mac consumers? I presume it’s to do with Mac being very good self-publicists and having a founder who is marketed as marginally cooler than Bill Gates.

I bought an iPad because I think it will be useful for me. So there! :p

I’ve had my “base model” iPad for about 3 weeks now and I love it! Is it basically just a huge iPod Touch / iPhone? Yeah. But it does a lot of things they don’t and does other things much better, mostly due to the abundant screen real estate.

And, I’m no Apple fanboy either. I am, however, a gadget freak and this thing is awesome.

I am a total, unashamed Apple fanboy, and I, too, will not be getting an iPad.

I do post here, from time to time, on my iPhone though.

But right now I’m on my (aging) MacBook.
