I would be ALL FOR some Trek-to-DVD releases. Why not some animated feature-length adventures voiced by the new cast?

I dig the DC Comics 'PG-13' line of direct-to-dvd features as a possible model. Great voice acting and animation, and stories that really hit home with fans specifically. Granted, most are adaptations of preexisting material. I'd rather see some brand new Trek stories by some of the many amazing writers who haven't yet had their stab at Trek.

Yes, they need to be done right. However, QMx promised availability long ago and and have been silent on the matter since then. They've had their prototype for over a year no; why can't they produce it?

9, i think you need to do a bit more research on this item before you start slating them - these aren't mass produced toys - the clue is in the name - they are each made to a high standard where perfection and quality over come a rushed release.

QMx is exhibiting it's Enterprise Studio Scale Artisan Replica. Again? Good for them that they have an awesome model to lug around with them to the various cons. But if they can't produce them for the fans to buy, why bother? QMx: put up or shut up!

I agree. But if they ever do another project involving "Enterprise", they should do a mini-series based on the Romulan War books. I've read "Kobayashi Maru" and "Beneath The Raptor's Wing", both great reads, especially KM. A lot of suspense. I still got to read "The Good That Men Do".

I miss the panels Dochterman, Burnett and Altman hosted. Those "unauthorized" panels seemed more Trek than a lot of what's going on right now. Informative, revealing and fun. Shame those can't be done now.

SImon, I don't consider it mindless B&B bashing to critique a series that wanted to tell the "history" of the Federation, yet portrayed the Vulcans as the villains, and badly. So badly that someone had to come in in Season 4, create a new group of Vulcans that were more akin to the original series' model, just to preserve the timeline.

I don't disagree that when Manny Coto came aboard, the series began to improve.

The thrust of my post before wasn't to bash on B&B (that's better saved for other posts), but to express my concern that a direct-to-DVD feature would be a disaster of Biblical proportions.

"Enterprise" was a good show, hitting it's stride in Season 3 (just as TNG & DS9 did before it) and going to warp in Season 4.

Enough with the mindless B&B bashing. An "Enterprise" TV movie (say, a Romulan War-era setting) would be a great opportunity.

Well essentially nothing again from Star Trek at Comic Con. Trek is so under represented here. Few trek costumes, no official panels, and light booth stuff. Too bad.

No, it would NOT be nice if Paramount/CBS decided to go the direct-to-DVD route. Can you imagine the production values? The D-list actors? The weak scripts? It was hard enough to squeeze 20 good episodes out of your standard 26 episode season by the end of it all, let alone when the bar is lowered by SEVERELY reduced budget, which is what this would have, because if they were going to dump serious money into it, they'd go network or feature with it.

Don't mean to be negative, but we're just getting Star Trek back up on its feet after Berman and Braga and what they did to "Voyager" and "Enterprise". We don't need another massive digger to bury the thing for good.
