Well, I believe the Greeks set the template such that all comedies should end in marriage. So when a comedy’s hero gets the girl it isn’t entirely far fetched to see the end, marriage, coming. But I think it is just you as there’s more than enough areas still left to explore for laughs as the structure of the show would seem to require all 4 male characters to marry for the end to truly be.

Also, you may be reacting to CBS’ uninspired marketing as the network bigwigs are trying to use that to amp up its comedic hormones and it is just a pitifully low brow attempt and not even on the level of writing that the show has.

Just read in Katee’s bio that, growing up in Oregon, she wasn’t allowed to watch much TV. The one exception is that she’d watch Star Trek with her father. It must be a real treat for her to work with Takei!

What would be classic is to get Shatner and Takei together in a show like BBT and getting into a “fistfight” in the context of parodying their noted off-screen conflicts. Heh.

Too bad we can’t get Nimoy to do one last turn. It would be classic.
