Watch Funny Video Trailer For Night of the Living Trekkies + Video Preview Of Star Trek 365

The publishers of two new Star Trek related books have released video promos worth checking out. We have a funny "book trailer" for the zombie/Trek mashup "Night of the Living Trekkies". Plus there is a new video preview/promo for the photo book "Star Trek The Original Series: 365". Check them both out below.

Night of the Living Trekkies Book Trailer

Quirk Books, who specialize in ‘mashup’ fiction like "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies" have a new book out that imagines a zombie outbreak at a Star Trek convention called "Night of the Living Trekkies". Quirk has now created a trailer for the book. The video is pretty funny and shows this idea has some comedy potential, so maybe someone will option this book for a movie or a TV show.

Here is the cover:

"Night of the Living Trekkies" is available now at Amazon and other booksellers.

Funny. Gross. Funny. But shouldn’t it be in black-and-white?

Night of the Living Trekkies looks like a lot of fun, looking forward to watching it..

Question tho about Zombies, If they are so squishy and so slow, how come they are hard to kill?

The Orion girl was HOT!

OLLEY – They are hard to kill because they are not wearing Red Shirts, duh. ;)

That’s the first fan video I can say I loved. Too bad it is just a book trailer. I hope a feature based on the book is in the works.

Outstanding! Incredible production values for a trailer….for a book?! Has a Galaxy Quest meets Shaun of the Dead vibe.

Would LOVE to see this turned into a movie!

Okay… Night of the living Trekies had better become a movie! Maybe a theme for Zombieland 2?

I purchased Star Trek 365 last week and I love it. It is a beautiful book and well worth getting. The idea is to read a page a day but I finished it in two. I couldn’t put it down.

Awww, just a book trailer? Where is that movie!?

September 14, 2010 2:09 pm

Great book trailer a bit gross but halarious! Ordered both from amazon! My coffee table looks bare. Trek365 will fix that. Thanks for a double treat

They need to make a full length based on the clip.
Maybe they can get a cameo or two in it!

Nice lense flare in the Trekkies trailer!

And I liked the Gold Key comics feel of the book cover. Intended homage maybe?

Very funny trailer. Good at trailer length, but I wonder what would hold my interest for a full movie… or for the full book. Love that when the Orion slave girl slaps Kirk, her make-up comes off on his face.

I got my Star Trek 365 and I think it’s great.

Thank you SO much to everyone who was apart of this! <3 It was SUCH an amazing experience! :) And I agree.. it should be a full feature! ;)

I did a review of this book on :

It’s well worth picking up, and there is a contest to win a free copy of the book and other prizes both on the the Night of the Living Trekkies facebook page and at

I’m really hoping this becomes a movie too, it would be so awesome!

That was entertaining. That could work as a low-budget film, if Paramount didn’t sue their butts.

Night of the Living Trekkies was better than “Phase 2.” I don’t know whether that speaks highly of the book trailer or lowly of the fan series, but either way I’m impressed.

Trekkie in Red Shirt about to be eaten by Zombies, “They’re right behind me, aren’t they? I’m not surprised. Are you surprised? I’m not surprised. Oh, yeah. A red shirt dies. Big f…ing surprise.” Ha. Ha.

Yes, this is a great idea for a movie. See “Zombieland.” (2009)
