I too get a little tired of the use of foul language “AS” funny. It has its place, but entertainment is entertainment and foul language is just foul language. It’s only funny when the joke is funny without the offensive oration.

Buzz, please keep in mind that the uncensored version you’re watching is simply the rehearsal before the actual show. Just look at what Lopez is wearing. The final version that aired was much more polished.
Putting this uncensored video on here as a “new story” is the Trekmovie.com version of a “Woman with Three Breasts” story in the “National Enquirer.” Certainly it is not a proud day for this otherwise great web site.

I definitely prefer Gene Roddenberry’s vision of the future where mankind works to improve itself.
I think the Shat is simply trying to say that people get too worked up over profanity. By using the word “f*ck” over and over again, he was demonstrating how it helps diminish the power of said word. Really, in effect, what IS the difference between saying, “screw you!” and “f*ck you!”? It is the same basic message.

I think small manageable fires started by children playing with matches are good fun and can also be educational. People get too worked up about kids and fire.

Isn’t it weird how an inference of the word, and the word itself HAVE THE SAME END MEANING, but you prefer the inference and are only sick of hearing the word?
Something to think about I guess.

I don’t want to pick on you of course, but I just find this interesting. It seems irrational to me that the censored version is humourous and the other leaves you cold. Both songs are equally crude *unless* you don’t understand the meaning of the censored version. I am certain you do understand the meaning of the censored version though, so there is no net difference between the two songs.
It is like BSG characters saying ‘frack’. The use of the word as an expletive is in an *identical* fashion to the “F” word it is replacing, and there is no question that the meaning is also the same. Yet somehow the replaced word is completely unacceptable and ‘frack’ is fine? (even here, if I type out the “F” word in question, this post will be erased)
It is just silliness that in most cases it all comes down to the sound (or spelling) of the word that offends, and not the meaning behind it.
