GENRE MOVIE NEWS

Captain America: Super Bowl spot + Sequel already greenlit?

During the Super Bowl, Paramount released the official trailer for Joe Johnston’s "Captain America: The First Avenger". The spot also gave us our first look at Sebastian Stan as Bucky:

On that front, Hero Complex | LA Times spoke with Johnston about Stan’s portrayal of Bucky:

Sebastian brought something really interesting and slightly on the dark side and really compelling to watch — when he’s on camera, you’re fascinated by watching him,” Johnston said. “In a great cast, I thought he really stood out and brought some unexpected things to the role. Everyone brought something to the movie and a lot of them brought something great but I was most pleasantly surprised by what Chris brought and what Sebasatian brought in a much smaller role as Bucky."

Johnston also said Bucky protrayal isn’t exactly like we’ve seen in the comics:

“In the comics, he’s like Robin is to Batman,” Johnston said, “but this is not that at all…Our Bucky isn’t a sidekick and there’s a darker edge. This is a much more interesting relationship.

Watch the trailer embedded below:

The spot must have gone over very well inside Marvel, because the studio has reportedly already hired screenwriters Stephen McFeely and Christopher Markus, who wrote ‘Captain America’, to pen a sequel. That was fast! In other news, Badass Digital is reporting that Oscar-winning composer Alan Menken has been brought on board the project and will, in some capacity (not the score), be involved with the film’s music. The most likely scenario has Menken being involved for the time when Captain America is in the USO. "Captain America: The First Avenger" is scheduled to hit conventional and 3D theaters on July 22, 2011.

URSA to be featured in Zack Snyder/Chris Nolan Superman? + Lois Lane shortlist

British actresses Alice Eve and Rosamund Pike and German actress Diane Kruger had reportedly auditioned for an undisclosed role in the Christopher Nolan-produced / Zack Snyder-directed "Superman" reboot, but Latino Review is reporting that the role is for the Kryptonian villainess URSA. The character appeared in "Superman: The Movie" and "Superman II". The original casting report comes from Variety.com, who also noted that the studio "is also in the midst of a search for a ‘Superman’ villain." Since that report surfaced, however, a funny thing happened. Diane Kruger denied her involvement, telling ComingSoon.net it is "not true" and Rosamund Pike has been cast in the "Clash of the Titans" sequel (details in CASTING BITES). Although it’s possible Kruger may just be trying to keep things secret, if she really wasn’t in competition for the role then that would leave Alice Eve as URSA. Only time will tell.

In related casting news, Latino Review reports that Lois Lane will be in the film, despite recent rumors to the contrary. The site reports that Olivia Wilde has tested for the part, but others in contention for the role include: Kristen Stewart (since denied by her publicist); Rachel McAdams; Jessica Biel; Dianna Agron and Malin Akerman [via What's Playing]. And just so we have everything covered on the casting front…the gossip site TMZ reports that Lindsay Lohan is up for an undisclosed role in the film. It’s said to be a "major character".  And finally, here’s an excerpt from SFX Magazine’s interview with Snyder [via Comic Book Movie]:

“My feeling about Superman is that I’ve been a fan of the character for a long time. But the question for me was always, ‘What can you do with Superman in a modern world?’ And I think the amazing thing that Chris and David have created, that I’m working on now, and the reason why I was like, ‘Yeah, I’ll do that,’ was that they found that in him. They found the why in him. That’s the exciting part for me.”

And just how will Snyder’s Superman differ from previous incarnations of the character? The filmmaker’s tight-lipped but hints at what we can expect from someone whose visions are, more often than not, visceral.

“I can’t really talk about that without being kind of specific,” says Snyder. “But I can say I think Superman needs to be physical.”

"Superman: Man of Steel" (rumored title) is scheduled to hit theaters in December 2012.

The Hobbit begins production on March 21, 2011 + First image of cast

Peter Jackson is out of surgery and resting comfortably at his home. As previously reported, Jackson was hospitilized last month with a perforated ulcer. The hospitalization resulted in a production delay for "The Hobbit" films, but the project is now back on track and Warner Brothers / New Line / MGM have announced that production will begin on March 21, 2011. A cast image has also been released featuring Martin Freeman (Bilbo Baggins) along with his cast of dwarves:

"The Hobbit Part 1" is expected to hit theaters in December 2012 followed by ‘Part 2′ in December 2013.

X-Men First Class trailer + New image

Yesterday 20th Century Fox released a brand new picture of Michael Fassbender as Magneto (seen above) in Matthew Vaughn’s "X-Men: First Class and today the studio has released the film’s first theatrical trailer. Watch it embedded below.

In related news, Hero Complex | LA Times spoke with producer Bryan Singer. Here’s one excerpt from their interview, where Singer discusses the relationship between Havok and Cyclops — they aren’t brothers — and elaborates on the thinking behind sticking to the title despite the film not being based on the ‘First Class’ comics:

“It wouldn’t physically fit for him to be the brother of Cyclops. We take some liberties on that. There are notions, but, um, I don’t want to give away certain interrelations, but let’s just say there are some things that do adhere to the comic books and do so in a way the fans will get a kick out of. And those things can, perhaps, move forward into the future…. That’s one reason we wanted to call the film ‘First Class’ even though it isn’t the [Jeff Parker-penned story arc called] ‘First Class’ in the comics as fans know it. You couldn’t really tell that story without going even earlier and explaining how they got there and how it came to be. I liked the title, so we kept it, but this is a prelude in a way that will eventually lead to the [scenarios] that fit in more clearly with the ‘First Class’ comics and situations.

"X-Men: First Class" is scheduled to hit theaters on June 3, 2011. The cast includes James McAvoy as Professor Charles Xavier, Michael Fassbender as Erik Lehnsherr / Magneto, January Jones as Emma Frost, Jennier Lawrence as Raven Darkholme / Mystique, Rose Byrne as Dr. Moira MacTaggert, Nicholas Hoult as Hank McCoy / Beast and Kevin Bacon as Sebastian Stan.

Jon Favreau talks Cowboys & Aliens + Watch Super Bowl spot

If you haven’t already seen it, or just want to see it again, here’s the Super Bowl spot for the Jon Favreau-directed "Cowboys & Aliens" (written by Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman and Damon Lindelof):

Inside Movies | EW spoke with Favreau and the director spoke about what we haven’t seen yet…the aliens:

"We haven’t shown any of the aliens. We want to hold that back. And all the images we’re showing are from the beginning, up to the first half of the film. We’re not showing a lot of where it goes. The first teaser was showing the opening of the film and a little of the setup. This one is showing more of the sense of adventure as things unfold. We’re just trying to get people’s feet wet."

Favreau also wants to assure fans that the film is more action-adventure than comedy and talked about the film’s tone:

"I think people’s first response on hearing the title, which is a play on words, is that it’s going to be a comedy. They’ve been disappointed in the past when people have played with the Western genre, and not stuck to what’s bad-ass about it. When they throw that out the window, and play a pastiche of it, they don’t feel like they’re getting what they want. What you want is the grizzled warrior on the parched plains, and you want to see this iconic figure, who almost magical emerges from mirage of the horizon."

"There’s a level of fun, but that doesn’t mean we have to wink. The characters aren’t having fun, but the audience is. We wanted to maintain the integrity of both genres, and focus on a specific aspect of the alien genre which mostly revolves around the films of the ’80s that I grew up with, and I’m lucky enough to be working with [Steven] Spielberg [the Cowboys & Aliens exec producer], who was the author of many of the films we’re using as inspiration. And sometimes it’s fun to play things as thriller, sometimes verging on horror, like Alien or Aliens. We wanted to maintain that gravity."

Read the rest of the interview here. "Cowboys & Aliens" hits theaters on July 29, 2011.

Shawn Levy to direct Fantastic Voyage

20th Century Fox and producer James Cameron have found their director to take on the highly anticipated 3D re-imagining of the 1966 classic "Fantastic Voyage". Deadline reports that Shawn Levy ("Real Steal") will direct the film:

I’m told that Levy has boarded the re-imagining of the 1966 original about a team of scientists shrunk into a ship in an attempt to save a colleague’s life. Fox and Cameron have been moving cautiously on a big budget film that, from early in the script once they go inside the body, is almost exclusively CGI. The script is by Shane Salerno, with Laeta Kalogridis working on a polish.

"Fantastic Voyage" doesn’t have a firm release date but is expected in theaters by 2013.

Cinematographer Wally Pfister calls The Dark Knight Rises script "phenomenal"

Director of Photography Wally Pfister, who has worked with "The Dark Knight Rises" director Christopher Nolan on the previous two "Batman" films and most recently on "Inception", was on the Kevin and Josh Movie Show (via NolanFans) and spoke glowingly about the latest film. Pfister says he read the script two weeks ago and it’s "phenomenal":

"I read the script 2 weeks ago, and he’s done it. Plain and simple — he’s done it. It’s a phenomenal script. He’s still in the process of cutting it back because it’s a very long script right now, but it’s really phenomenal. And he actually had me go back and wanted me to watch, in IMAX, Batman Begins and The Dark Knight again. When I watched those I had read the script for The Dark Knight Rises and was like, ‘dude, it is a perfect trilogy.’ I think that was his intent, to work off those two pictures — and they are very different pictures. And it’s funny, we all had different opinions about which picture we like better."

Pfister also talked about shooting in IMAX, stating their "goal is to shoot as much in IMAX as we can" and claiming that the movie’s opening scene "will blow your mind." I can’t wait. We’ round out this week’s "The Dark Knight Rises" coverage by debunking a few recent casting rumors:

"The Dark Knight Rises" is scheduled to hit theaters on July 20, 2012.

Roberto Orci talks Ender’s Game

Last week we reported on the news that Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman were producing Gavin Hood’s big screen adaptation of Orson Scott Card’s 1985 sci-fi novel "Ender’s Game". Orci was recently interviewed by MTV and spoke briefly on the project:

"Like ‘Cowboys and Aliens,’ it was in development for a long time so I think it became somewhat of an institutional feeling that somehow it can’t be done," Orci said. "This is one of those books, since it came out in ‘85, it turned into a classic, but there was always this feeling that somehow you can’t be faithful, because the audience isn’t sophisticated enough."

"We’re finally in the year when an audience is sophisticated enough," he continued. "And they crave original stuff, and that is why we decided right now to take it out, and hopefully we’ll have good partners.”

Captain America looks like it is going to be AWESOME!!!!!!! :-)

2. Harry Ballz - February 10, 2011

Gawd, I hope they get the next Superman movie right! NO LEX LUTHOR!!

TIME FOR A NEW VILLIAN!! BRAINIAC?

3. Harry Ballz - February 10, 2011

VILLAIN!

DAMN TYPOS!!

4. Jordan - February 10, 2011

Dark Knight Rises comment is very good to hear

5. Majicou - February 11, 2011

I’m baffled both by the continued existence of the Battleship movie and the intended meaning of the phrase “kind of unique to most war films.” Is she saying that war is unique to war films?

6. Commodore Mike of the Terran Empire - February 11, 2011

Capt America and Battle L.A look fantastic. Cowboys and Aliens is looking good. The Hobbit it Hobbiting along. Superman. Will wait and see. or maybe we could get Harry as the Villan He would be great in Superman. Because Harry is indeed Kryptonite.

7. MJ - February 11, 2011

The new Spiderman looks lame — like it is more for the kiddies this time. Also, do we really need another X-Men movie?

8. MJ - February 11, 2011

“We’re finally in the year when an audience is sophisticated enough,” he continued. “And they crave original stuff, and that is why we decided right now to take it out, and hopefully we’ll have good partners.”

Bob, I can only hope that your movie is better than the book (aka Contact or The Two Towers), because Enders Game is one of the most overated sf novels of all time. I’m counting on you to pull it off though, giving the concept of Enders Game itself is worth developing into a movie.

9. Harry Ballz - February 11, 2011

6.

Yes, I would be Embarrass Man! I would shame the Man of Steel with cracks like, “What’s with the cape!! Honestly, who wears a cape to save lives, I ask you? Silly twit!”

That would show him! :>)

10. boborci - February 11, 2011

8. really think it’s over rated?

i mean, amazing story aside, it predicted the ubiquity of the internet, blogging, gaming, ipads even. we will have to disagree;)

11. boborci - February 11, 2011

and i forgot to mention its prediction of war itself.

12. Harry Ballz - February 11, 2011

So, Bob, you posted earlier that you were working on the Trek script today.

Was it, in your opinion, a good day?

13. MJ - February 11, 2011

Well, I am not alone:

http://www.amazon.com/Most-Overrated-Sci-Fi-Books-Written/lm/1DLX4RSELR0QF

http://www.sffworld.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-22981.html

http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/4131680

It is mainly the story and the writing — I think Card is a hack writer at best. But I acknowledged above that it had concepts worthy of being a good movie if done especially with your talents, Bob.

14. Pierss - February 11, 2011

RE XMEN:

James McAvoy may be Scottish, but thats the worst English accent since Dick Van Dyke in Mary Poppins

15. 4 8 15 16 23 42 - February 11, 2011

Oh my god! Enders Game as movie would be unbelievably good, if done right! I hope that materializes. But it has to be as dark as the book… something tells me Lord-of-the-Flies level child-on-child violence isn’t quite going to make it to the screen.

16. 4 8 15 16 23 42 - February 11, 2011

My above comment is not intended to cast doubt on Orci’s, Kurtzman’s, or Hood’s abilities (though I can only really speak to the abilities of the first two in that list), but here’s what I DON’T want: Harry Potter in Space.

Ender’s Game puts squarely in front of the reader the acceleration of today’s expectations of adults on children to grow up as quickly as possible, as kind of mini-super-soldiers. It’s a stomach-churning and decidedly unpleasant concept, carried to its logical conclusion, and there’s nothing innocent and childlike about it. It’s a story that should be rendered in as disconcerting a vision as possible, just like The Road is a hard movie to watch because it goes the same hard, dark place as the book does….

17. Victor Hugo - February 11, 2011

The X-men trailer convinced me. Even with no Jean or Scott.

18. Aaron - February 11, 2011

In regards to the Captain America movie, the actor’s name portraying “Bucky” is Sebastian STAN, not Sebastian Shaw as previously reported. C’mon man, better journalism next time.

19. Mark Lynch - February 11, 2011

Spider-Man costume just looks shite, the more pictures I see the worse it gets.

BTW did anyone else notice the second Spider-Man sitting in the car with the first one having wrapped their legs around some random guy?

20. Robert H. - February 11, 2011

I agree with Mark Lynch.

Also, the one picture of Spiderman looked a little…. compromising.

21. Daoud - February 11, 2011

@9 But…. I’d be Retcon Man.

Don’t you know, that the cape differentially shades Supes’ body from the scattered light of the yellow Sun (even though Sun’s not really yellow, but turquoise green–the scattered components are primarily blue, hence blue skies) so that lift is generated as the front of his body sees more scattered light than the back.

See, without his cape, he shouldn’t be able to fly! ;)

22. Brandon - February 11, 2011

I eagerly await more info on “Dark Shadows” casting. I hope when the expected casting of Helena Bohnam Carter is announced that it will be for Dr. Julia Hoffman and not the vengeful witch, Angelique. I loved Helena as Bellatrix in the Harry Potter movies, but she’s not who I envision as Angelique. She would be great in the Dr. Hoffman role though. I am extremely happy with who they haveselected for the Willie Loomis role!

23. Andy Patterson - February 11, 2011

I really like all the little nods to Jack Kirby (the weired machinery down tot he hair styles for the characters) that Captain America seems to have done. That scene of him coming out of the machine as he’s transformed from skinny weakling to super soldier is very reminiscent of the original page. Nice. Really hope it’s good.

Although I like the way Spider-Man moves in the new shots I’ve seen (reminds me of Ross Andru’s years on the book) I’m not realy keen on the new suit.

Also…to the people of Detroit wanting a statue of Robocop I find that funny…being that the movie was filmed in Dallas.

24. Commodore Mike of the Terran Empire - February 11, 2011

Hey Bob Orci. Can you give us any update on the progress of the Script of Star Trek.

25. Victor Hugo - February 11, 2011

25. No spoils you for, come back, one year!

26. Dee - February 11, 2011

hmmmm … boborci seems a little tired in that interview to MTV … I hope he is well … I definitely want to see Cowboys & Aliens! … and I’ll send good vibes to boborci … I’m expecting a great story for Star Trek Sequel!

I’m not complaining now … I can do it, did you see?… LOL and +LOL!

27. Polly - February 11, 2011

The Hobbit cast looks great! The Bolbo guy looks so…Bilbo :) And thats a good thing!

Also why does the Pirates of the Caribbean trailer make me think of Peter Pan?

28. Anthony Thompson - February 11, 2011

What about Bond?

29. Anthony Thompson - February 11, 2011

If Bob is still working on the Trek script at this late date, the movie won’t make it’s release date.

30. Basement Blogger - February 11, 2011

Maybe it’s the photograph but the Spider-Man costume looks cheap.. I’m talking about the mask. I hope it’s just the photograph.

31. Basement Blogger - February 11, 2011

Okay would the special effects guys who did the UFOs for Batlle: Los Angeles, finally own up to the UFO video from Haiti? I mean fifteen million people watched it.

32. Basement Blogger - February 11, 2011

Memo to Seth Rogen aka The Green Hornet. The reason why we’re excited about comic super hero adaptations is because they’re all being taken seriously. Yes, they have humor, come on, it can be funny but the overall effort is to honor the subject matter not skewer it. We’ve already been through the campy Batman of the sixties and it was done better than your movie.

Was not a Thor guy growing up. But now that I’ve read that Director and Shakespearean actor Kenneth Branngh loved the source material. (Link below.) It looks operatic. I now want to see this film. It looks like a 3D conversion with thought being given that it would be released in 3D. (wiki below)

Hey Paramount expand the budget for Star Trek 12 so it’s filmed in 3D, no conversions!

33. Capt. of the USS Anduril - February 11, 2011

Sounds good for Dark Knight Rises.

Captain America, Thor, and even Pirates 4 look good. I WANT to say the same for Transformers, but there’s no hint of the story in that teaser, and honestly, I would like to have heard Optimus in it. But that’s me.

Can’t wait for the Hobbit to hit, and Orci! Do Ender’s Game justice, please!

34. Capt. of the USS Anduril - February 11, 2011

Oh, and I am now on board for X-Men First Class. It seems to be an actual lead-up for the movies, which is what worried me, that they were just going to ignore things that they’d already set up.

35. Red Dead Ryan - February 11, 2011

The new Spider Man costume looks like it was bought from a store.

The trailers for “Cowboys And Aliens”, “Thor”, “Captain America”, Kung Fu Panda 2″ and “Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” all look great! Can’t wait for those.

I think the producers need to be careful who they choose to cast as Lois Lane for “Superman: The Man Of Steel”. Both Erica Durance and Kate Bosworth failed on epic proportions.

Speaking of which, Harry may be comforted by the fact that once “Smallville” is over, Erica Durance will probably suffer the same fate as Kate Bosworth: Career in ruins and irrelevency!

36. MJ - February 11, 2011

@16 “It’s a story that should be rendered in as disconcerting a vision as possible, just like The Road is a hard movie to watch because it goes the same hard, dark place as the book does….”

Comparing Card to Mccarthy is akin to comparing Motel 6 to The Four Seasons.

Review of Enders Game from GoodReads (with 88 reviewers agreeing with this review:

“God damn did I hate Ender’s Game. I checked out Amazon and can surely see why I wanted to give it a shot. Talk about a cult following of people absolutely smitten with it. I even read some where that it’s on the required reading list at Quantico. I suppose this book could be some kind of manifesto for misfit nerds who waste their life playing video games or a source of legitimacy for motivating tired Marines sick of drilling (The book rambles on infinitely about the boy genius Ender and his laser tag in a zero gravity vacuum.) I also suppose we could kid ourselves into thinking the novel brings to light the necessity of Machiavellianism in conflict or maybe we could discuss the pathetic New Age garbage the book ended with as our annoying protagonist spreads some half crocked neo-religion amongst space colonies in which you love the enemy you are forced to annihilate. Some sort of cryptic Latter Day Saints plug by the Mormon author?

There were several other things I couldn’t stand about it. First of all, like even the best science fiction, the characters were one dimensional card board cut outs. This starts with the dorky, self absorbed protagonist Ender himself. I can deal with this problem if the plot is cool enough (ala Dune). Dune, too, often times dealt with children geniuses, however it was explained and made sense in the story. We have no idea why Ender and the other children (of which 99.9% were male) are so smart. Speaking of children, did any of you guys pick up any sort of creepy pedophile vibe in this book? How many times were we told of naked little boys? Why were there references to their tiny patches of pubic hair? Why did Ender have to have his big fight naked while lathered with soap in the shower? And the corny Ebonics that the children randomly spoke in? WTF?

The third rate and minuscule insight we were given about the geopolitical conditions on Earth were terribly dated. The Warsaw Pact dominated by Russia? What a cheap rip of Orwell. Lame! The side story about Ender’s genius two siblings also using Machiavellian tactics to achieve their political goals (instead of Ender’s military ones) by blogging on the internet really didn’t add up to beans in plot development if you ask me. Of course, Ender is never beaten at anything he does. I suppose we are to be awed by his victories but, strangely, his greatest triumph was his stoic willingness to use some sort of super weapon to destroy an enemy wholesale via exploding an entire planet. On the cover of my book, it suggests this book is appropriate for 10 year olds. What could a child get out this book? Boo to Ender’s Game!!!!!”

38. VZX - February 11, 2011

No more Kristen Stewart!!! Not as Lois Lane!! NOOO! I am a huge Superman fan, but I will never watch a Superman movie with Kristen “dead eyes” Stewart as Lois Lane. Dang, the last Lois was bad enough in that boring Superman Returns.

Well, I am very stoked for Dark Knight Rises. I still don’t like the title, but as long as the movie rocks, its ok.

Again, thanks to trekmovie. com for these updates. They are the best.

39. Dee - February 11, 2011

Jon Favreau makes a cameo in “Welcome to People” …. I’m curious … which character he plays in the movie? … the father of Chris Pine’s character … maybe??

40. joe - February 11, 2011

I am so sick of Batman but then I am not a big Batman fan. In my opinion the only real good X Men movie was the first one so I have gotten so I don’t look forward to them anymore. I am looking forward to Captain America and I have never been a big Thor fan but the way Marvel is connecting all their movies I need to see the entire series so I guess I will watch Thor. I love Superman so of course I am always looking for a Superman movie and while I liked Superman Returns I really hope that Brainiac can finally be featued in a movie. Luthor has been done to death. Can’t wait for Battle LA, Avatar sequels and Cowboys and Aliens.

41. Adam Shepherdson - February 11, 2011

Wolverine is going to be awesome. Dark Knight should be good too.
Battleship .. seriously?

anyways, enough with remakes. Enders game should be good, do The Stainless Steel Rat, Deathworld, Gateway, or some other classic Sci Fi books, stop remaking things..

42. Shadowcat - February 11, 2011

The X-Men First Class Trailer is fantastic. The casting is excellent.i love that the film is set int the 1960’s. I am looking forward to X-Men First Class.

43. Sebastian - February 11, 2011

Looking forward to “Cowboys and Aliens”; great cast, and it looks like a lot of fun!

And regarding “The Hobbit”, I am not a Tolkien fan at all, but I really enjoyed Martin Freeman as Watson in the new BBC adaption of “Sherlock.” He was possibly the most ‘real’ Dr John Watson (certainly the most interesting). He even managed to subtly steal the show from Benedict Cumberbatch’s Holmes at times. For his performance alone, I might actually consider seeing “The Hobbit.”

Wonder if Peter Jackson will consider using Leonard Nimoy’s “Ballad of Bilbo Baggins” as a possible end credits theme song…. ; D

44. "Check the Circuit!" - February 11, 2011

I’m not usually like this….but…if Jessica Biel, Lindsay Lohan or Kristin Stewart are in Superman, I won’t be watching it. If they are, then Zack Synder isn’t taking the project seriously.

Could you imagine any of them in Dark Knight? If think not.

45. grigori - February 11, 2011

That settles it! They’re making a movie out of EVERYthing. Or even doing it twice. When did I get so old as to experience SO MANY re-makes in my lifetime?

Peter Jackson’s conception of Rivendell in Lord of the Rings was one of the highlights of my movie-going career; can’t wait to see what he and his folks make of Mirkwood. I mean it: I can’t wait.

And no response from ROBERTO ORCI on the development of The Star Trek script… I am beginning to wonder about the fate of Trek?! Too many projects for the writers, director & actors to date… I don’t think anyone is truly committed… I hope I am wrong!!!!!!

“•Cobie Smulders (”How I Met Your Mother”) has been cast in the role of S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Maria Hill (Ms. Marvel) in Joss Whedon’s “The Avengers”.”

Maria Hill is just a SHIELD Agent. Ms. Marvel’s name is Carol Danvers, and there’s a couple of actresses rumored for the role.

X men is going to be a great movie!

That spiderman costume will be totally different (and better) when lights, cgi and post-processing effects will be correctly applied. I want to believe.

I agree with Harry, Brainiac please. Am I th only one who still isn’t impressed by what I’m seeing from Spiderman?

52. Harry Ballz - February 14, 2011

51.

Thanks for the backup, Chang!

53. Pinsent - February 18, 2011

@ 19 I was thinking the exact same thing… the more of the suit the worse it gets.

@51 I’m not impressed with it at all.

54. Battle-scarred Sciatica - February 19, 2011

I love the photo of spidey being humped by his boyfriend in front of the car. Brilliant!
He obviously has an emergency snapper system in his suit for exits and entrances!

55. Bob Tompkins - February 20, 2011

Any number of villains for the next Superman movie would be acceptible…
Darkseid
Mongul
Brainiac
Parasite
Metallo
Doomsday- done to death I know, but never quite right.
Phantom Zone villains -not necessarily Zod and Ursa
Some combination

Unacceptible even in combination
Toyman
Prankster
Mxyxptlk
Give Lex Luthor a break unless a way to reboot him is found
Bizarro

something crawled up mj’s ass. What happen card piss you off personally? clearly you read the entire book so it was riveting enough to finish. I think all other cards books are a waste of time alvin maker and the entire shadow series except for ender’s shadow come to mind. and although i enjoyed most of the ender sequels mostly because of the idea of jane the technical aspects of some just went on and on and on. But since it’s release Ender’s game to me is one of the more original books i have read. I wouldn’t compare it to the road by any means, they are clearly worlds apart. True i am more of a stephen king’s darktower fan preferably first 3 books. I look at each book i read as an escape from the mundane regularity of everyday life. Ender’s Game was in my opinion the best book Card has written. Yes perhaps the only good book he’s written.By far better than half the drivel written and published in todays markets.
