Trek Stars and TrekMovie at Phoenix Comicon

Phoenix Comicon, a very fan friendly con, has grown to be one of the biggest events in the west with a crowd estimated at 20,000+ for this weekend. Previews kick off tomorrow and the event runs through Sunday May 29th at the Hyatt Regency in Phoenix, Arizona.

This year there are a number of big Star Trek stars for the event, including Leonard Nimoy, Wil Wheaton, George Takei and Robert Duncan McNeill. Also on hand will be Battlestar Galactica’s Aaron Douglas, Babylon 5’s Bruce Boxleitner, Stargate’s Paul McGillion (who was also in Star Trek), Chuck’s Adam Baldwin, Billy Dee Williams (Lando!), Marvel Comics’ Stan Lee and many more.

On Friday at 3:00 I will be hosting a TrekMovie panel and discussion (called "Star Trek Lives Again!") all about the latest news in Star Trek, including the Star Trek sequel. I will be joined by some other fans and Morgan Gendel. I will also be modering the George Takei and Leonard Nimoy panels.

A weekend ticket costs only $35, with lower prices for single day passes. More info at www.phoenixcomicon.com.

Looks like a ot of fun. Wish I could be there.

When Nimoy and Takei arrive for the event, and are waiting backstage to be introduced, i wonder if they look at each other and feel like they’re in Galaxy Quest?

Wonder if there will be any Man of Steel news there? Maybe even a photograph of Cavill in costume, that’d be nice.

It sounds like fun. It would be great to hear Morgan Gendel, Hugo award winning writer TNG’s “The Inner Light” would say about the direction of Star Trek under Bad Robot.

Hold on. Just saw that Sherry Jackson is gong to be there. Remember her in that TOS “What Are Little Girls Made Of?” She was Andrea and wore that flimsy and sexy outfit.

Check her out from the episode.

Hoping to be there this weekend!!

Dammit! Been sitting down here all week with nothing to do and come the weekend, I have to go home… just can’t win!!

Looks like a great line up, try & have some fun this weekend.

I live in Phoenix, just a few miles from this, but will wait till August and catch them all in vegas without the comic book people. i don’t really read comic books.

Phoenix seems to advertise better than Dallas. I had to find out about Dallas con last week from this site…and I live here.

Would like to go to Anthony’s panel. Would really like to see Sherry Jackson. Love her.

Some great potential filming sites near Phoenix for the sequel: Cosanti in Scottsdale and Arcosanti (about 70 miles north of Phoenix).
