George Take recently tried to call for a peace in the ongoing Star Trek / Star Wars “feud”, but William Shatner is more interested in keeping it going. Watch Bill’s video reply to George below.
Shatner rejects Takei call for Star Trek/Star Wars truce
First came Shatner’s online video in which he took several shots at Star Wars. Those comments prompted a response by Carrie Fisher, which in turn resulted in another online video from Shatner. This lead to George Takei jumping in and calling for galactic peace.
But Bill is having none of that. In a new video responds posted today, Shatner said Takei is the actually "the greatest threat to equanimity and peacefulness" to to carrying on their feud. And Shatner demands "retribution":

Hilarious. But he makes a good point (in an amusing way): who is GT to ask for peace when he’s been carrying on a stupid feud for decades. I can appreciate his desire to be funny but his involvement just seemed like trying to weasel in on some Internet “PR”.

There is a reason why Shatner is “captain”. Both make good points, but I have to lean to Shatner’s side.

see, now why can’t Mr. Takei take this stance towards ending his “feud” with Mr. Shatner? You can’t call to end the SW/ST “feud” without first burying the hatchet with your former series co-star…preferably the hatchet is not buried in someone’s flesh;)

George Takei is a third-rate celeb riding on the coattails of William Shatner and he knows it. Takei is jealous and is trying to steal some of the limelight from Shatner.
Btw, Shatner is a million times funnier than Takei will ever be.
I’ve had no interest in following the Shat-Kei feud, but from what I’ve seen, Shatner’s a bit of a mean-spirited, childish instigator; hardly ‘the man.’ Nimoy’s the class act.

Its too bad that Shatner is mediocre at best. There are way more people who are funnier then him, and half the time they aren’t even trying to be funny.

I’m glad that your DVDs get on so well, but my vast collection of Star Trek DVDs started intimidating my 6 Star Wars DVDs, so Red Dwarf and Babylon 5 had to get in between them and break it up…
My Miami Vice dvd series keeps the peace in between TOS and Star Wars. And Ken Burn’s Civil War is there too, just to keep things in perspective with all that fiction.
Who cares anyways. Just be happy that both franchises exist so we have a CHOICE.

I keep my “Star Trek” and “Star Wars” Blu Ray and dvd collections seperate. I doubt anything will happen, but I keep them seperate to ensure trouble doesn’t brew! :-D

Was this ‘feud’ of ST vs SW ever funny? Takei’s remark was the only thing that made me almost chuckle….
I think the whole thing is light-hearted fun… and some folks take it way to seriously.
That said… #20, I’ve met both of them quite recently. Shatner was exactly what I expected. Full of himself. Takei was warm, humorous and took the time to actually interact with people, laugh and share with them.
I love the Shat (even though he’s kinda douchy in person), but Takei is a gentleman.
51. Neither funny nor particularly clever. Klingon doesn’t really sound like a laundry detergent. It sounds like a kitty litter.
I cringed when Takei got involved. Shat’s pretty all over the map on this original cast feud thing, sometimes he’s relatively contrite, other times he’s darned pissed off and openly, well, sorta mean. And I know, I’ve said that I’d be thrilled if they all show a little grace and just be quiet about it — and that includes Shatner.

Why is it that when Shatner does something GT has to jump in? I see professional jealousy here. Shatner has re invented his career several times and been successful, GT career fails in comparison

I have a feeling that George & the Shat probably HAVE buried the hatchet – I think/hope they’re just playing along tongue in cheek now for laughs, and it gets them both publicity.
If they both actually mean what they say however, then it’s gotten beyond childish and very boring indeed. Didn’t they learn anything from their years in Trek? IDIC anyone?! Get some class like Nimoy or Deforest (RIP).
