More than a decade after the show went off the air, the actors from Star Trek: Voyager still like to get together in Los Angeles for a dinner. And just in time for Voyager’s 17th anniversary, actor Robert Duncan McNeill shared a photo from this week’s gathering of the Voyager boys (sans one). Check it out below
Voyager Boys Reunion
This week is is the 17th anniversary. What better time for the boys of Voyager to get together for a reunion? Actually the actors from Star Trek: Voyager have been getting together regularly, but for the gathering last night Robert Duncan McNeill sent out a photo via Twitter. We can see Garrett Wang (Kim), Robert Beltran (Chakotay), Ethan Phillips (Neelix) Robbie McNeill (Paris) and Robert Picardo (The Doctor). If you are wondering where Tim Russ is, Robbie tells TrekMovie that he usually shows up for their dinners, but wasn’t available this week.

Voyager Actress Jeri Ryan wasn’t there either, but she did retweet the photo saying "Aww, my boys…!! <3"

I always had a soft spot for Voyager. I thought it was a good balance to DS9 at the time. In a way, both series complimented eachother. DS9 had the story arc and was written more to evoke a sense of conflict and tension. Perhaps a precursor of sorts to Galactica. Voyager worked with standalone episodes and ensured the sense of security around the “family” its strength and enduring hope of returning home. It’s great to fall back on the classic feel-good-by-the-end trek.
Once again we see the true core of Star Trek: FAMILY!!
They used more technobable to save the day then any other series. I did like it when they finally made contact with the Alpha Quadarant.

I know some people complain about Voyager (that it didn’t live up to its’ potential, Janeway wasn’t a good captain, etc.) but I share your fondness for it as well; it’s the first Trek series I watched regularly.

Too bad the surviving TOS series cast cant be like this… TNG cast is still very close from what I understand… it’s sad.

I never was much of a Voyager fan–to this day, there are episodes I’ve never seen, which can’t be said of any other Trek series–but the show did turn out some decent stories on occasion, and in any event it’s good to see these guys enjoying themselves this way. It hardly seems possible that it’s been seventeen years. (And Mr. Sternbach, I’ve been an admirer of your work even much longer than that.)
I thought the Voyager cast hated each other, or Robert Beltran hated everyone or something. I love Voyager, I grew up with it and DS9. Can’t believe I was barely hitting double figures when it ended.

What is that loser Garret Wang doing at this reunion? He is a bitter malcontent who has continually been negative on his Trek days, thinking that Trek owes him something. What a hypocrite for him to show his face with other cast members. I bet the other actors were whispering “a-hole” under their breath.

Nah, Garrett Wang has been angry that he never got to direct an episode, has suggested that “Voyager” should have gone the “Scrubs” in space comedic route, and stated he wanted to punch William Shatner in the stomach because Shatner apparently didn’t recognize him.
Wang was also late for work numerous times during “Voyager”s early seasons.

Actually watching Voyager right now. It was very well written and I did enjoy it a great deal. It had great story telling and I really liked the premise.
I would love VOY to come to blu-ray!

I think Robert Beltran took issue with the writing and story lines on the show, not his fellow actors. Can’t say I blame him. 10 years is a long time to reflect and look back on something that was a big part of your life. Its really nice to see them all together like that. Robbie McNeill was such a young, baby-faced guy when Voyager started and now he’s the father of a 21 year old woman…sheesh!! Where has time gone?!?!
I liked Voyager from the start. I liked all the technobabble. IMHO Voyager tried to be more TNG than TNG. And I liked it. I still like it of course.
Happy anniversary to Voyager, I loved Voyager and still enjoy watching it. I am always defending it as a lot of friends did not like it.
It is not my fav Trek and some characters were underused, but I still think there is great stuff in the show.

Robert Beltran has been vocal about the show and given how little they gave Chakotay I can’t say I blame him. Watching the DVD special features it is celar he was a lot of fun on the set.

Been rewatching Voyager since last month (I actually had no idea that an anniversary was due). Still my favorite series (actually VOY created my interest in Trek). Having watched TNG after VOY I must admit that something was missing in TNG. TNG lacked a main “premise” or sth – VOY had this “journey home”. TNG was just about exploration – I had no feeling of series “progressing” through the seasons and the finale seemed very “unexpected”. For me, VOY is TNG done right. (TNG started off with very lame episodes – the Bynars? – come on. How lame was that?) The Doctor was a far more interesting and developed character than Data was. I could go on… but instead: I won’t.
Love to see photos like this. It’s none of my business but I’m glad these guys still get together and get along unlike the TOS crew. I doubt there are “Voyager Girl” get togethers like this. My guess is there’s no tight relationship between Kate and Jeri. That’s what I’ve gathered from conventions and from the (admittedly often full of BS) internet. I’d like to think Roxann and maybe Jennifer Lien are still tight with everyone.
Wouldn’t you love to be a fly on the wall during one of these? I wonder if they talk a lot about the VOY glory days?
Hear Hear to all of the above who defend Voyager. Was it perfect? Absolutely not. But I’ve always had a soft spot for it too.
Voyager is not my favorite series but I think if I had walked into that restaurant and saw them all at the table like that, I might have wet myself, a little.

I like Voyager. They had some really great Eps. Some not so good. But the ones that were on were simply fantastic. Good to see everyone having a good time these many years later.
They’re all sitting around at dinner making fun of the freaks they had to shake hands with at the convention.

I was more of a TNG fan, but my favorite character on Voyager was Robert Picardo as “The Doctor”. I loved his sense of humor!!

Voyager was a very flawed series with poor showrunning and little sense of direction/originality, but yeah, it is a very entertaining show to watch if you can overlook all its problems.
Aawww, I miss Voyager! It was awesome! I’ve been re-watching Star Trek again (all 5 series), and I’m up to season 6 of Voyager. May it Live Long and Prosper!!
