Quinto: Star Trek Sequel Still Being Defined + Saldana Talks Exhausting Schedule

Star Trek's new Spock Zachary Quinto has once again given some insight into the process of making the new sequel. In new comments from Oscars over the weekend, the actor talked about how director JJ Abrams is still 'defining' the film. He, along with Zoe Saldana, also talked about the grueling schedule. Saldana & Quinto Talk Leaked Sequel Photos – Say Abrams Is Upset

The leaked photos from the Star Trek sequel set have flown around the internet and created a lot of buzz, along with proving some spoilers for the film. Over the weekend a couple Star Trek stars attending award shows talked about the leaks and JJ Abrams isn’t too happy. Zoe Saldana also talked about her new co-star Benedict Cumberbatch and Zachary Quinto talked about the challenges of making the movie. Watch the videos below.


Quinto wins 2 Spirit Awards + Pine and Saldana Present + Plummer wins Oscar [PIX & VIDEO]

On Saturday Star Trek’s Zachary Quinto picked up a couple of Independent Spirit awards for Margin Call, for his debut film as a producer. Also on hand presenting at the Spirit Awards was his co-stars Chris Pine and Zoe Saldana. And in a small Star Trek world connection, Saldana presented a Spirit award to Christopher Plummer (Chang from STVI). Plummer also won an Oscar on Sunday. More Photos From Star Trek Set – IMAX Camera Spotted

More leaked location shots have emerged from the set of JJ Abrams Star Trek sequel – from the same source as the first photos we reported on this morning. The new shots offer some different angles and moments from the same scene which was being filmed. One shot also confirms the use of an IMAX camera. Check them out below, but be warned of spoilers.

Star Trek Phase II To Produce Lost Norman Spinrad Script + Watch Teaser For “The Child”

This week sci-fi author Norman Spinrad (writer of the original Star Trek series episode "Doomsday Machine") released an ebook of a "lost script" he wrote for Star Trek which was never produced. Now the independent fan production Star Trek: Phase II has decided they will pick up the ball and put the script into production 45 years after it was written. First Video From Star Trek Sequel Set – Possibly Shows Different Scotty Uniform Clue [UPDATED]

Star Trek’s Simon Pegg is a big fan of comics publisher 2000 AD and so yesterday he decided to send them a special birthday greeting. He did this in the form of a video he shot with the help of Star Trek’s Karl Urban, and it gives us our first (spoiler-free) glimpse from the sequel set. Check it out below.

Today Jeri Ryan, aka Seven of Nine, Tertiary Adjunct of Unimatrix Zero-One aka Annika Hansen, of Star Trek Voyager, turned 44 years old. The new season of Celebrity Apprentice has premiered, with Star Trek’s George Takei as one of the celebrities. The first task for the men’s team was to name the team. George tried to inject some sci-fi into the mix, resulting in some talk about Star Trek, with Adam Corolla hitting back hard against anything Trek. Watch it below.


Watch: Chris Pine Calls His HS Crush Kristy Swanson (original Buffy) On Kimmel

Chris Pine, Star Trek’s new Kirk, has a new movie opening today (This Means War) so last night he took some time off from shooting the sequel set to appear on Jimmy Kimmel Live. While there Chris talked briefly about shooting Trek, travel, cartoon crushes, and his Kardashian connection. Jimmy also arranged a phone call with Chris’ high school crush Kristy Swanson (the original Buffy The Vampire Slayer). Watch it below.


Review: ‘Shatner’s World’ On Broadway + Opening Night Pix

Last night Star Trek’s original Kirk William Shatner opened his new Broadway show "Shatner’s World: We Just Live In It" (which will be going on the road for a US tour next month). This new one-man show is an evolution from his 2011 tours in Australia and Canada. TrekMovie was in New York to see if it was Shat-tastic. See ‘Celebration of Khan’ Talk At Star Trek: The Exhibition & Illinois Library

On February 16th, 1967, 45 years ago today, NBC premiered "Space Seed" and introduced Khan to the world. Written by Gene Coon and Carey Wilber, the episode featured Ricardo Montalbán as the genetically superior tyrant who would become an icon of villainy in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. To celebrate both the actor and the character, TrekMovie Merchandise editor/resident Trek historian (and real-life sociology professor) John Tenuto invites all fellow fans to three different special events during the month of March!





Details and Cover From Star Trek: TNG/Doctor Who ‘Assimilation2‘ Crossover Comic

Today the BBC, CBS and IDW (enough acronyms?) made official what was leaked last week…the Star Trek and Doctor Who franchises are headed for a mashup collision in a new comic book. We now have new details (and the first cover) from the the "Assimiliation2" comics which will tell the tale of how the crew of Star Trek: The Next Generation and the Doctor will face off against the Borg and the Cybermen.
