A few more photos from behind the scenes on a location shoot for the Star Trek sequel have shown up online, featuring Zachary Quinto in Spock make-up, featuring the actor having a moment and answer the question: What does it look like when a Vulcan sneezes. Quinto is also wearing what could be another uniform variant, check it out below.

The latest images from the Star Trek sequel location shooting come from X-17 agency via The Daily Mail) and they feature Zachary Quinto in full Spock makeup, sneezing while behind the scenes.
Do Vulcans sneeze?
Quinto is wearing the standard undershirt for the Starfleet uniform, which is the same shirt Kirk wore for most of the 2009 Star Trek movie. It could be that he just hasn’t put on his blue science tunic over this shirt or he will appear without it at some point in the film. He is also pictured wearing grey trousers which are different than the standard dark grey/black uniform pants. It is possible this combo is a uniform variant for Spock in the 2013 sequel, or perhaps he was just half dressed.

It looks like Quinto is wearing his own pants and shoes. His pants look like suit pants, and the shoes look like dress shoes. Could be wrong though.
Those are Men’s Warehouse pants! You’re gonna like the way this movie looks, I guarantee it!
There are pics of Chris Pine using the same shirt/trousers combination. I think it’s a full set of uniforms.

Also, it could be that they are filming a camping scene in an RV park. Spock, Kirk, and McCoy are going to sit around the barbeque wearing a mix of Starfleet and civilian clothing singing “Row, Row, Row Your Boat…” while enjoying some beans ‘n’ bourbon.
After defeating Khan, of course. :-)

Instead of wearing a possible uniform variant, maybe they were just shooting Quinto from the waist up and didn’t need a full costume change? Just a guess.

She is. But, that is an actor portraying a member of a caninoid species that was involved in a long interplanetary war with the Caitians. It is also going to be a crewman on the bridge.
There will be considerable tension, for dramatic purposes, between the two.

Actually if you watch the commentary of the 2009 film with JJ they mention that they almost put the Botany Bay at the end of the film. Pretty sure it’s Khan.
It’s not Khan, it’s Garth! Actually Capt. Garth revisioned in a Khan sense. Kirk and crew have to take on a more experienced Starfleet crew gone rogue.

The one link between all these leaked photos is that they all have featured Quinto. I wonder if one of his companions or reps is doing this?

cumberpatch needs to work out to be khan.
I like the uniform variations- it makes more sense to have such things. The subdued delta shield on his shirt is especially interesting- real military units do that as well.
Really looking forward to the movie. And if I’m reading Zach’s tweets correctly, he’s about done.

I fear the main corridor leading to the bridge is going to have been converted into a catwalk. Between all these costume changes I hope they find time to have a bit of a narrative going.
And by that I don’t mean, as Spock sashays his way to his station… ‘and here’s Commander Spock. Note the slim fit pants and tight fit shirt bearing just a subtle Starfeet logo for those occasions when you just wish to blend right in. Classic style for a classic Trek. I am going to be SO disappointed if the villain is indeed Khan. My enthusiasm for the film will diminish considerably. We have seen Khan already, at his best. Give us someone new!

There are too many things to make me doubt it. A) He’s wearing Starfleet formal wear in set pics, B) he’s an Englishman and Khan is an Indian.

Anyway, back to topic: I think Vulcan’s could sneeze. I can’t remember seeing a Vulcan sneeze on screen before, but I know Major Kira sneezed a lot when she was pregnant. Yeah, Bajorans and Vulcans are not related, but they are humanoid aliens. So, maybe all humanoid/ mammalian aliens sneeze.

I’ve been saying it for weeks. The technicolor TOS uniforms are gone and won’t be in this movie. The jacket to this uni is the same color as the pants and has just the tiny splash of department color on the top shoulder. I’m 100% convinced of it! :)
Well, it looks like we’re getting closer to finding out that the villain is Khan. I can’t wait to see what the naysayers have to say once the writers do make the announcement. We’ve now had a couple of sources reporting that it is Khan. Hee hee!

@62 Nobody in their right mind would cast either Del Toro or Cumby in the role of Khan. I’m far more likely to believe that Weller will play an old Khan who is quickly dispatched and then the villain cloak is taken up by Cumby. Remember that it was confirmed that Weller would be playing “a corporate executive” and that’s a bit of a stretch if we interpret that conventionally. Weller could be the head of the eugenic supermen organization though!
@65 Again as I’ve stated previously. I am 100% convinced that those spoilery pics are a complete ruse put on by JJ to misdirect the fans off the uniforms AND the fact that Cumby will be wearing prosthetics. MARK MY WORDS! You’ll see when we get closer to release date that I’m right.
Another villain of the week Trek – yawnnnn! They pussied out of doing anything science-fiction or original evidently. Trek IV was the last genuinely thought provoking movie akin to the best episodes of the 60s series. Trek should be epic in scope and force the audience to think and question – not this ‘Trek Wars’ for the 5-sec attention span xbox generation…

I don’t think he’s checking out that guys butt. I think it’s just the angle from which the picture was taken. Can’t say for sure, though, but that’s what I think.
Could that white dog be a seeing-eye dog for someone who is blind – the woman, perhaps? Seeing the harness made me think of that possibility.

Could someone who has seen those Pine pictures please provide a link, since the trekmovie staff seem uninclined. After all, he does play THE captain, not just some first officer/science officer.

Why would they get us all revved up with the “technicolor shirts” in the last movie and not have them here? False advertising, that is.
They are going to have on their regular uniforms in the film, everybody.
For such huge budgets, these films have very drab costume design. The maroon cadet uniforms were dull and these are even worse.
I think the maroon stuff is worse. Black and grey never go out of style. :-)
wow. of all the wealth of vast trek lore and not to the mention to the possibly of going in new yet unexplored directions… and the best they can come up with the obvious. khan.. really????
nothing we’ve seen is any proof or indication that its going to be khan. nor have they revealed the name of the villain. so i don’t know where these khan rumours are coming from. the image of cumberbatch or whatever his name is on set.. ok that could be anything i dont see a resemblance to khan.. they’ve said thats not the direction they want to pursue.. if it does turn to be khan i’m going to have to assume the studio forced their hand for financial reasons. cuz they don’t want this and fans who’ve already seen the whole khan story played out already don’t want it. there’s other things they can with this series. the notion of having khan kinda negates all the wonderfully original (yet keeping in tradition) things they did with the first one. think about it
