LeVar Burton in ‘Perception’ from Trek vets Biller and Sussman

Following their collaborating on the fantasy series Legend of the Seeker, Star Trek writer/producers Mike Sussman (w/ 33 writing credits for Enterprise & Voyager) and Kenneth Biller (with 35 Voyager writing credits, and two as director) created Perception for TNT. The show is a different kind of procedural, starring Eric McCormack (Will and Grace, Free Enterprise). Here is the official synopsis:

In Perception, Eric McCormack plays Dr. Daniel Pierce, an eccentric neuroscience professor with paranoid schizophrenia who is recruited by the FBI to help solve complex cases. Pierce has an intimate knowledge of human behavior and a masterful understanding of the way the mind works. He also has an uncanny ability to see patterns and look past people’s conscious emotions to see what lies beneath.

Also on board is Star Trek: The Next Generation’s LeVar Burton, who has a recurring role as the long-time friend of Dr. Pierce and dean of his university. LeVar will be in 6 out of 10 episodes in the first season. The premiere is on Monday July 9 at 10 PM. Here are some preview videos about the show and with LeVar behind the scenes.

I think Lavar is one of the more under rated characters of TNG. Glad to see him acting again!

I’ll give it a shot. Maybe. OK, Maybe not. But I’m happy for Geordi!

LeVar was highly underrated. Sure he didn’t get the super episodes to show his shinny talent, but I always knew that I was getting a solid believable performance when he had a lot of stuff to do in an episode.

Besides, can anybody say that despite disliking INSURRECTION, that they don’t think that the scene when Geordi is watching a sun rise is one of the best in the franchize.

Luv yah LeVar, and I will probably watch this new show just because of you.

I will check it out. Look’s like it might be ok. Lavar is a great actor.

Good to see Kenneth and Michael getting their projects produced. Great to see Levar.

#3 And also in Nemesis, another TNG dud, Levar really made the Data tribute scene one of the most memorable.

Most definitely going to check this out, looks promising!

Eric McCormack’s character sounds an awful lot like Walter Bishop….

It isnt Walter Bishop,
It is Sherlock Holmes .
Good for Levar ,
It looks like a quality product.
I will check it out .
