There are a couple of news updates from the world of Star Trek memorabilia and auctions. First up Profiles In History auction house is holding a massive auction in July which includes dozens of lots of rare (and pricey) Star Trek items. We also have an exclusive update on the original Galileo Shuttle from Star Trek, which sold at auction yesterday for $60,000.


Robert Picardo Talks To TrekMovie About ‘Femme Fatales’ & His ‘Hope’ To Get Into Next Star Trek Movie

On Friday night Star Trek: Voyager’s Robert Picardo will be back on TV, this time on Cinemax’s sexy anthology series Femme Fatales. We have a new preview of this and other Femme Fatales Season 2 episodes. Plus Picardo talks to TrekMovie about the episode and about meeting JJ Abrams.



Watch: Daily Show & Colbert Report Go Star Trek (Again) + Futurama Too

Colbert and Stewart are Trekking again. Over the last couple of nights both of Comedy Central’s late night shows have thrown out Star Trek references. The Daily Show with Jon Stewart seems to have Wrath of Khan on their mind, while the Colbert Report sees the president as a Vulcan. Watch the clips below (if you live in the USA). Kurtzman and Pine: Star Trek Sequel Crew Still On Journey To TOS Crew + Cumberbatch’s Villain Helps Kirk ‘Grow’

In the last day as part of their People Like Us publicity tour, both director Alex Kurtzman and star Chris Pine have ended up discussing the Star Trek sequel and specifically the arc of Kirk and the crew of the USS Enterprise, with both noting that the end of the 2009 movie was not the end of their journey to becoming like the crew of the original series. Pine also talked about Benedict Cumberbatch and how his villain brings out the best qualities in Kirk’s journey.

Today brings good news for the female fans of Star Trek with the announcement of a new line of apparel just for women. Her Universe, who have been making "fangirl" clothes and accessories for fans of Star Wars, Battlestar Galactica and Doctor Who, is launching a new line for Star Trek fans. There are many things that are still unknown (or at least unconfirmed) about JJ Abrams 2013 Star Trek sequel. Even the simplest things like who the main guest stars are playing is still a mystery, as is the title of the movie. However it appears (according to one of those guest actors) that a decision has been made on the title, but he isn’t saying what it is. Writer: Star Trek TNG S2 Blu-ray To Include Extended “Measure of a Man”

In one month the first season of Star Trek: The Next Generation will arrive on Blu-ray. Season 2 is due in the Holiday season. And it appears that one of the cool bonuses for set being considered is an extended version of the courtroom drama episode "Measure of a Man." This news was revealed by the original writer of the episode, Melinda Snodgrass. Details below.

Khan30: New Video of Leonard Nimoy Talking About Last Minute Change To His Final Scene In TWOK

Over the weekend Leonard Nimoy appeared at the LA Festival to introduce and talk about Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. The film, which is enjoying its 30th anniversary this month, was being shown for free at an outdoor screening. Nimoy talked about how [spoiler alert] his death scene was changed at the last minute to give them an out to bring him back in the next movie. Watch the video below. Karl Urban, Star Trek’s new Dr. McCoy, is starring in another big sci-fi movie – Dredd – coming out in September.
