Flashback: DS9’s Take Me Out To The Holosuite

In Star Trek’s future, baseball seems to have mostly fallen out of favor of more cool space sports like Hoverball and Parrises Squares. However Deep Space Nine’s commander Benjamin Sisko was a big fan of the game, which came to peak with the seventh season episode "Take Me Out To The Holosuite." Here are the baseball clips from that episode (compiled by ShadowGeno).

I’am quite pleased to see star trek finally getting all the promotion it so richly deserves.

Cool shirts to:)

For those who are attending the L.A. Dogers Star Trek Night on August 3rd, which salute will you render during our national anthem “The Star-Spangled Banner”: the hand-on-heart salute or the Vulcan salute?

Dang, lucky Dodger fans. I wish I could go.

Great clips from a fun episode. Where was the “Fancy Dan” back flip scene?

#3. Since it’s the US nat’l anthem and not the Vulcan one, hands on the heart & hats off please!

Way cool. I’m jealous!

All Nogg had to do was touch home plate!

#3 – Regardless of how you feel about either Star Trek or our flag, the U. S. Flag Code clearly states that “During rendition of the national anthem when the flag is displayed, all present except those in uniform should stand at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart. Men not in uniform should remove their headdress with their right hand and hold it at the left shoulder, the hand being over the heart. Persons in uniform should render the military salute at the first note of the anthem and retain this position until the last note. When the flag is not displayed, those present should face toward the music and act in the same manner they would if the flag were displayed there (U. S. C. Title 36, Chapter 10, Sec. 170)”. Obviously, the reference to “in uniform” means military uniforms; the folks in the MLB uniforms have to follow the same rules as the rest of the civilians.

Too bad I like the San Francisco Giants over the Dodgers. Must be going against the grain being that the Giants did a very, very awesome Death Star Baseball for Star Wars day.

Oh, man, I want that shirt. Too bad I live in West Virginia.

Stinking Dodgers had to do it. Should have been the Giants. Sisko wore a Gaints cap in the episode referenced.

Even more important, the Dodgers swept the Giants over the weekend. All is right in the universe again.

Oh, the Dodgers do a Star Wars night, too, as I recall.

Okay, Phil I’ll do better. The Cincinnnati Reds have just won ten in a row. And stand a whopping 21 games over .500. I love baseball. There’s something cosmic about it. I’m beginning to sound like Annie from Bull Durham. :-)

Cool T shirt. Of course, they made it Dodger blue. I hope it does well. Then maybe the Cincinnati Reds could have a Star Trek night.

#5 and #8 Oh, right. Sorry for being curious.
