Well, that didn’t take long. Yes, we already have a Star Trekified parody of the popular Korean ‘Gangnam Style’ music video — this time, sung almost completely in Klingon. The video is actually of rather impressive quality, with all of the lyrics sung in Klingon, and the dancers in full Trek garb shooting on location. Very nicely done. Hit the jump for the video.

You are completely missing the point, Montreal Paul. I, for one, am not feeling slighted by this article. In the old days, when this site had mutlple artcipes per week, this would certainly been a fun diversion article. But these days, with Anthony pretty much having abandoned the site, and poor Kayla and the comic book guy trying to put in an article or so a week to cover for Anthony’s latest disappeance, yea, seeing this kind of article in the absence of real news in the quality of “THE source for everything new in Trek,” — yea, dude, this kind of pisses me off. And no, I don’t think I am an ingrate or owe anyone an apology for stating so. I want this site to be great again.

So since you are one of the whiners about nothing being posted here – and you are complaining about this being posted here. How about clearing up what you actually want. Would you prefer “filler” stories until there is some actual news or would you prefer no news until actual news comes out. Or wait, would you prefer they make up news? Just doesn’t seem to be very funny to me. I think it’s just hard to capture what makes the original such a hit. Good effort, though. Couldn’t be easy to translate all that.

All, it should be known that this Captain Ransom has been attacking multiple posters over the past couple of days as well on this site. As one example, here is a response he provided to someone on the recent Science Saturday article:
“No but all you do is whine! How crap… go away if you don’t like what is on this site. They is no news right now. Get that trough your tiny little brain. If you don’t like that fact, then go away and read the non-news on other sites. I am tired of your trolling and tired of your whining,”
And here are some other examples of his belligerent attacks over the past couple of days — he has been on quite a roll:

Everyone relax. The problem isn’t Anthony. It’s JJ Abrams and his secrecy. :) There is nothing to report, there is no news, so whatever else is picked up off the net, is really just nothing anyway. Orci said the same, dont be so hard on Anthony and this site — there’s nothing to report.
So, here’s a tip!! If you use an iphone or ipad, grab a Free app called Zite. It’s like a customizable magazine that you can use keywords to autosearch google or the net for articles every day that match those words. Put in Star Trek. You still get nothing, because JJ Abrams loves his secrecy.. but it’s a nice way of compiling all Star Trek news into one. Let’s stop focusing on the problem and start making solutions. :)
To be honest, what I miss on other sites, is the community (inlcuding Orci and Sternbach), the comments, the reactions, the debates. That has always been my favorite part of Trekmovie — and it’s what’s missing elsewhere. But if you want news, try Zite.
Maybe we should all go over to TrekToday and TrekBBS to get Trek news and char since Anthony has abandonded us?
Also if Anthony takes down The Source For Everything New In Trek maybe we wouldn’t complain at because that would at least be a status update.

Exactly. That is the biggest issue I have here. If Anthony takes that bold, audacious and now unfortunately untruthful proclamation down from the header of this website, then as I have said before, I will never discuss the topic of the lack on news or Anthony’s continued unexplained disappearances ever again.

Joining this conversation later, but in this article and the other most recent article on the Sunday Science article, the person who is constantly driving the discussion with complaining and negativity is this “Captain Ransom’s back” character. And he is stating the same thing over and over in his rants.

I actually enjoyed the video. I too have been posting here for years. Not as frequently as all the other regulars, and I may have gone under the name Trekker1091, but I have been around ever since I first discovered this wonderful site in late 2008. And I DO try to read most of the comments, and I DO read all the articles. It gives me a laugh every time. Not because of what the regulars say, no, but because of all the haters that keep bitching no matter what the regulars say or what the article is about.
As for Trekmovie itself not living up to their promise, like others have said, it’s not Anthony’s fault. It is JJ’s. Its his secrecy about the 2013 movie that is the reason there is no news or new articles all the time, or would all you haters prefer to see a post once a week about how there’s no news?
So, all you haters out there, please do go and get what any normal person would call…you know…a life. Let the people that actually care about Trekmovie do the posting. Though if you want to continue to post your hate mongering comments to continue to entertain and allow everyone to laugh at you, that’s OK too! Anyway, just thought I’d say my peace.

Jesus Fracking Christ, I go out all day and when I come back, the usual bunch (Jonboc, Montreal_Paul, and Captain Ransom’s back) are still labelling the rest of us as “haters” and “whiners”, simply because we express some disappointment in how the site has been run lately.
The worst offender is Captain Ransom’s back, who should alter his name to Captain Ransom’s BACKSIDE since he’s been a total ASS the last couple of days! :-)
It always amuses me that when the “complainers about the complainers” inevitably show up, they always get so over the top emotional with their name calling — douchebag, haters, dicks, etc. etc.
For the vast majority of us who have the continuing complaint here about the articles — simply because we miss the past greatness of this site — we never reduces ourselves to the vitriolic level that the complainers about the complainers mostly seem to resort to.
Many of the “complainers about the complainers” are typically vindictive name-callers, and would not be the kind of Trek fans that most of us would want to have a beer with. I expect that most of these folks are people unhappy with their daily lives…and this is their best form of self-aggrandizement.

Then you are just letting fans of this site down. That tagline would mean daily and multiple posts about Trek news. They also sometimes had Scifi news. Unless their is no more news about what the old Trek stars are up to, Trek products, comics, toys ect. That is more things that apply to The Source For Everything New In Trek. If he has gotten to busy to maintain this site then the tagline should come then most of us would probably leave and go elsewhere. Unless Anthony doesn’t want that to happen.

Craiger, if Anthony won’t answer his emails, email the other administrators. There are a lot of people on the contact page. Someone is bound to notice that way. But if Anthony isn’t answering emails – why would he pay attention to the whining about the site? It’s counter productive and falling upon deaf ears. All it does is annoy everyone else. If Ryan and MJ and Bored with Trek and the others feel that strongly about this site, then they should ALL start emailing everyone on the list in hopes that someone will respond. Let me spell it out for you because you seem to be misunderstanding me.
I feel that the contributors are less apt to post an article because of the whining on here. People complain that there is no news. When an article is posted, people complain (like I posted in post #62) about the article. Kayla felt pushed into putting up an article a few weeks back. What I am trying to say is that why would the contributors want to post anything on here anymore when they get complaints when they do. Before Anthony went MIA people were complaining about the drivel that was posted because it wasn’t “real news”. Maybe Anthony actually listened to you and isn’t posting that stuff anymore and will post only when there is real news (other than the regular article such as Science Saturday & TrekInk). The last article Anthony posted was about the Title for the movie.
Is that more clear for you?

Listen, it’s an amateur website. Honestly, it’s just what Anthony thinks it is. Just like the other guys feel about their own sites. Anthony was smart enough to actually use it. In my personal opinion, they are all just about the same. Sure, Bob Orci comes on here and not the others but in the end – they are all just amateur websites. I actually go to all of them for Trek news. Some are easier to use than others.
But I am getting off topic here. Perhaps you and the other guys can do as I suggest… inundate ALL the administrators with email. Not just you, but many people. Let them know how you feel and perhaps it will get to Anthony and perhaps something will be done.

Captain, Anthony is a Trek fan doing an independent website. He is not a corporation. So when he says on his website, “THE source for everything new in Trek,” I certainly take that as the mission statement for this site. That is the goal of this site, ad defined by Anthony.

My gripe is that people have been complaining there are no articles being posted. When articles are posted, they are not happy with the content of it because they actually really complaining not about no articles being posted, but they are complaining about no new movie news being posted.
I feel for the contributors who work hard on their articles only to be greeted by complaints.

Sadly, Cap’n, that is exactly what he and a few others think. So much so that its become an obsession with them. It’s a strange mindset to be sure, one that certainly defies reason. Agree with MJ — the statement at the top of this website certainly looks to me like a bold mission statement for this site. When you state something that boldly and audaciously in public, then you’d better be prepared for the people who frequent your site to give you some negative feedback if you don’t deliver on your proclamation.
The website for the Sierra Club in California says: “To protect California’s Air, Water and Natural Resources.” That is their mission, and as a member, I expect them to live up to that, or they are going to get an earful from me an other members. When you make bold mission statements like that on a public website, people expect you live up to them; otherwise you lose credibility.
That is what is happening here. Anthony is losing credibility by essentially abandoning this site when his site keeps boldly proclaiming that it is “THE” Source for Everything New in Trek. Now that we see it is no longer fulfilling that mission, we certainly have a right to call him out on it.

Ransom – This is not an ameture website. Anthony knows people in the Trek industry. He set up interviews with JJ, Orci and crew when they were filming the ST 2009. I think he runs this as a professional Trek and sometimes Scifi news site. A lot of other movie sites sometimes run articles from here about the sequel. Now they will probably have to get some other sources for Trek sequel news. This site is as professional or was as the official StarTrek.com web site. We even had people like Rick Sternbach and other people involved with Trek past Trek productions posting in here, that was fun chatting with them and now they don’t even post in here anymore. That is what alot of us are complaining about. You should have seen this site during its heyday and now its a shell of its former glory.
Now that we have seen a third name change for this guy, I think my initial deduction here that this has been Stunkill all along is most likely correct.

Ransom we are just Trek fans who like to get their daily fix of Trek news and this site used to be the main place to go for that. We are missing its former glory it used to have. Other sites couldn’t even compare to this one. However now Trekweb is looking pretty good.

I might take some heat for that comment, but it’s meant in good jest. I have to admit I wish this site had more frequent posts. I don’t think that repeatedly expressing that disappointment will necessarily help the situation, though. When I put myself in Anthony’s shoes, reading what is said here, I might start to feel like not coming back.
I’m not telling anybody what they should say or how they should act, but our actions do have consequences, and these talkbacks have become fairly unpleasant to read lately. Nobody, the web master nor the participants, is really talking about Star Trek any longer.

Well, I took a break from the arguing to watch “Star Trek” 09 on Blu Ray again. Still holds up great. Still a lot of fun, and the opening Kelvin scenes still rank as the best part of the movie. The writers really nailed it perfectly with the sacrifice of George Kirk and the birth of his son, James.
I still don’t like the numb tongue/expanding hand scenes, and Engineer Olsen was too much of a dumbass to care about. Redshirts, at least in TOS, often were the victims of circumstance and bad luck, not idiocy.

I’m not really complaining, but what -is- happening with this site? Every couple of months, it’s nearly abandoned (or so it seems), and the readers start acting like bloody savages. 1. I believe the point has been made about the lack of posting on this site, and the frustration about the lack of information about the movie.
2. ‘Captain Ransom’ ( whatever his name is) has demonstrated what kind of person he is through his posts and his degrading comments about people he doesn’t even know.
3. I am joined by others about how I view this website, it’s tagline, and the lack of information on here about Star Trek. I certainly am joined in my opinion of Captain whatshisname…. (NOT HIS REAL NAME)

Agree 100% with you.
All, “Captain Ransom” is an impostor — he changed his name three times yesterday — see his posts from yesterday, and note how several of us deduced this. My advice would be to not respond to anything further that Captain Ransom says — we should not be rewarding sock-puppeting here on these boards.
I would urge you all to not respond further to any of Captain Ransom’s posts.
